Today we're shipping orders for in-stock items placed October 16. Our Hampton showroom is temporarily closed. Despite high order volume, our amazing shipping team is rapidly reducing processing times—we’ve recently added 17 new team members! We greatly appreciate your business and we’re doing our very best to serve you, as Jim C. of California tells. A word to the wise: Because resupply of many product lines remains daunting, and processing times may grow again in coming weeks, there’s never been a year like this to do your Christmas shopping and other year-end buying very early!

Baby's First Foods Book

Baby's First Foods takes the guesswork out of preparing fresh, inexpensive baby foods from real, whole foods. Even if you are experienced with whole-foods cooking, your new-mommy brain, which is likely operating on little sleep, will appreciate that so much of the work is done for you! Specific cooking times are provided for a number of grains, fruits, and vegetables. A full two months' worth of menus for baby is included, which accounts for introducing one new food at a time.

If whole-foods cooking is new to you, you will benefit even more greatly from Theresa Powers' text. You'll find instructions for baking bread, as well as tasty recipes to prepare for breakfast, dinner, and snacks. Those of you new to holiday entertaining will find the holiday meal instructions beneficial. In dessert or similar recipes, raw or less-refined sugar is substituted for white, as a healthier option.

The last section of the book contains additional projects to benefit new mothers and babies in areas outside the kitchen. There are sewing projects, herbal formulas, and journal-keeping guidelines.

Baby's First Foods makes a wonderful gift for young mothers—one that will enrich their lives and the lives of their children for many years to come as they enjoy the benefits of good health produced by sound nutrition. It makes a good addition to whole-foods cookbook collections, with its specific cooking instructions and yummy recipes. It would even be a good option for inclusion in a hope chest! Hardback, 128 pages.

I bought this book for a new mom. She was delighted with it and is planning on putting it to good use. It even prompted her to buy a KoMo grain mill after learning of the wonderful grains and products offered at PHG.

Sharon, thanks for your review and especially for the referral, we SUPER appreciate that!
