Description

Bosch Universal Plus Mixer

Chocolate chip cookies We're sorry the Bosch Universal Mixer is out of stock! If you need a mixer before this one will be back in stock, we suggest you consider the NutriMill Artiste Mixer or the Ankarsrum Stand Mixer. Both are excellent options!

The Bosch Universal mixer and kitchen center has a special reputation among discerning cooks. It takes in stride heavy tasks that would literally break conventional mixers within a few uses, and Bosch offers features and benefits found in no other machine!

Highly paid endorsements and continual ad campaigns are how some companies sell mixers. Bosch, on the other hand, doesn’t advertise their mixer at all. The success of the Bosch Universal stand mixer has been growing for decades based simply on its reputation for superior performance. Instead of paying millions of dollars each year to housewares celebrities and cooking shows, Bosch puts their money and effort into real engineering advancements and quality of construction. Continual refinement has made today's Bosch Universal a kitchen machine like no other.

  • “Bosch is the best of the best. I make bread twice a week, and love this mixer every time more than before. I've been using the Bosch since we were in Europe, 27 years ago.”

    – Ana Loulou, WA

Cake dessertThe newest model is the Bosch Universal Plus. Its 800 watt motor has a new design that extends motor life expectancy fourfold... and it was exceptionally long before. Just as importantly, the Bosch has a unique transmission that gets the motor’s hard-turning torque to the bowl better than in other mixers. Other new features include suction cup feet, a larger, lock-down bowl with 360 degree handle, and a pop-out drive shaft for easy cleanup. Another speed was added, while expanding the speed range with a lower low gear and a higher high gear, still including the pulse feature. The distinct advantages of the Universal Plus over ordinary mixers are now greater than ever before.

There’s no overhead gearbox with the Bosch, because it's powered from below—a design with major advantages. The base of the machine provides space to transmit motor power to the bowl using a belt rather than gears. The plastic gears in overhead-driven machines are small and breakage-prone, they transmit torque inefficiently, and the heat in their tight enclosure leads to early failure when worked hard. The Bosch belt efficiently transmits far more torque, runs cooler, and is incredibly durable, with an amazing twenty-year failure rate below one percent. In contrast to top heavy overhead-drive machines, this design gives the Bosch a very low center of gravity that makes it a breeze to handle. Bottom drive also provides full bowl access. With no obstruction you see everything that’s happening, so adding ingredients is easy as pie. And without a lot of meshing gear teeth, the Bosch is also exceptionally quiet.

  • “From bread making to cookie baking, you can't go wrong with this mixer! Love, love my Bosch!”

    – Jo H., MS

Whole grain breadThe Bosch mixer’s bowl is shaped like a large bundt cake form, a pioneering design that excels at both mixing and whipping. Twin whips mount on top of the narrow center column, driven from below by a stainless drive shaft. The whips float lightly against the bottom of the bowl, spinning rapidly as they rotate. And the bowl's shape ensures that your ingredients are mixed perfectly—lumps have nowhere to hide. The Bosch mixer's whipping action is so energetic it will make a cup and a half of meringue from a single egg white. And being only 10.6" tall with bowl mounted, all of this performance fits easily under your cupboards.

In addition to its stellar mixing and whipping performance, the Bosch Universal kitchen mixer is legendary among bread lovers. It makes better bread, faster and easier, with its patented three-arm stainless steel BreadMaster dough hook—with the strength to knead up to fourteen pounds of tough dough at a time. The BreadMaster hook vigorously incorporates oxygen, processing 100% of your dough every four rotations. Other mixers merely stir the dough, never achieving the Bosch's level of gluten development. Proper gluten development produces light bread with great texture. Merely stirring the dough produces "brick bread." As many as nine loaves of fabulous fresh sandwich bread can be out of your oven in just 75 to 80 minutes!

Bosch dough mixer features

Blueberry muffinsSmaller batches too: Dough for up to nine 1.5-pound bread loaves can be made in a batch. And with the new dough hook extender (currently included free) you can make outstanding dough for as few as one or two loaves. When whipping, the Bosch whips pick up exceptionally small ingredient amounts thanks to the bowl's tubular bottom profile. The Bosch stand mixer's 6.5 quart bowl is made of super-tough, BPA-free polypropylene. More details are under the specs tab, above. Gluten free? The Bosch Universal also provides the control you need to make delicious gluten-free recipes, tailored specifically to your family’s needs. Nothing approaches the tastiness of homemade and fresh!

Reaching beyond the role of stand mixer, the Bosch Universal Plus is a complete kitchen center. Available attachments extend its abilities to powerful blending, food processing, grinding, juicing and more. By eliminating duplicate power units, you save money and kitchen space while using superior, German-engineered kitchen tools. Below, you can see a wide range of optional equipment. From food processing to pasta making, the Bosch Universal Plus offers the tools to do the job quickly, easily, and right. The Universal Plus is available with or without the blender; the mixer is the same either way, so you can always add the blender later if you wish.

  • “Well, I just want to say you guys are terrific! Your prices are great, the products are top of the line, but most importantly to me, the service is perfect. Thanks a bunch!”

    – Dakota, NM

Included standard are the mixing bowl, splash ring and lid, BreadMaster dough hook and French whips. Plus: The new dough hook extender is currently being included free!

  • Eating Biscotti as I Write
    By on - Verified Buyer
I have only had this for a short time, but I have already made bread, biscotti and a cake with it, I am very happy with its power and versatility. It was very easy to clean, a little loud but I guess you can't have power without noise, not so loud it scared my cats though so that is good, or maybe not it would be good to get them out of the kitchen when cooking. I had always considered a Kitchen Aid, but then I kept reading that the newer ones aren't powerful and break down in a very short time, so for now I could not be happier, well I would have been happier if someone gave it to me and I did not have to pay. In any event well worth the money and now another biscotti. Well it is a few months later and just used it for all my Xmas baking, as a matter of fact just 20 minutes ago and I am still very happy with it. Thanks

  • Love my new mixer!
    By on - Verified Buyer
I had a Sears brand Kitchen Aid mixer for 15+ years. It was never great. I have wanted this mixer for over 10 years. Finally my husband bought it for my birthday! It's all that I hoped for. I've made my sourdough bread and it turned out so much better than using just my hands for kneading (I'm impatient). I used the whisks for cutting in butter for pie crusts. Then changed to dough hook for mixing with liquid for pie crusts. There is no leftover at the bottom of the bowl. That was one of the problems with KA mixer. I look forward to other attachments and more food prepared with my Bosch!

  • So many uses from one machine!
    By on - Verified Buyer
I have been using the Bosch Kitchen machine for over 15 years. When my old one finally died after much use (and abuse!), of course I ordered the new Universal Plus. Our family uses it to make batches of 4 loaves of whole grain bread at one time and mix cake and cookie batters. I invested in an extra blender so we would always have a clean one because we make smoothies constantly with frozen fruit and it does a wonderful job! I also use the chopper/slicer attachment for chopping veggies and making french fries. My husband is a hunter and we use the meat grinder attachment to process our venison every fall. My kitchen can't function without this machine!

  • Best bread mixer ever!!!
    By on - Verified Buyer
I've tried many mixers, and the Bosch Universal Plus is the absolute best!!! My first try at mixing was a large batch of French Bread. The recipe was easy and it was great to have the convenience of being able to add the ingredients while the mixer was slowly mixing everything together. The dough turned out the perfect consistency on the first try. After the dough was raised I formed the baguettes and let raise again. The bread was wonderful and so was the machine!

  • BOSCH LIVES FOREVER!
    By on - Verified Buyer
I received a Bosch Universal for my 40th birthday. I am now 67 years old and my Bosch finally bit the dirt. That is 27 years of making our own bread and a lot of other daily uses. I have now purchased my 2nd Bosch Universal. The new Bosch Universal Plus mixer. All of the attachments which I had purchased over the years work with the new mixer. How much greater can it get!

  • My old Bosch was 31 years old
    By on - Verified Buyer
I bought my first Bosch back in 1981 when we moved to Colorado. It has served me well, but it was time to update to a new machine. I make sourdough bread every week. It's the same wonderful workhorse it has always been. The feet on the old one did not have the same stable function it once did, but this new one has a wonderfully stable base, so I can mix the bread and walk away from it for those few minutes. I love the new discs for slicing and shredding with the Large Slicer Shredder accessory. I've already put them to use slicing beets for my dehydrator. I'll continue to get lots of use out of my Bosch---here's to another 30 years! -- Sharon O in Colorado

  • Amazing machine
    By on - Verified Buyer
I purchased as a Mothers Day gift, to me from me. I have never owned a top of the line mixer but am so Happy I chose this one after reviewing other brands. Its a workhorse, I make bread it mixes it like it's water, now I only make 2 loaves at a time but have not experienced the machine not staying put. It sits where I put it and doesn't move. The juicer attachment is awesome too, I make fresh lemonade and its wonderful. Clean up is fast and easy. I also LOVE the fact I don't have to pick up a heavy motor like the other type mixers as I have a bad back and arm and hand issues. Your wife or mom is gonna Love it. Fast shipping too.

  • Long Lasting

I've owned a Bosch mixer since 1978. I am actually on my second machine and fourth blender. Pretty good for 38 years. Wouldn't trade it for any other mixer/blender.
