Dough Glide for Bosch Universal

The Dough Glide is a little, fish-shaped piece of plastic that pops over the top of the Bosch Universal Plus mixer's bowl drive shaft. Some people find they sometimes get a little dough down the bowl's drive column when mixing large batches of particular recipes, and the Dough Glide will eliminate that. Generally this isn't an issue, and since the drive shaft removes quickly from the underside of the Universal Plus bowl, cleanout is easy anyway. Probably the most common reason to use one of these is that with some recipes, dough that gets between the top of the column and the bottom of the dough hook hub can blacken, and that's prevented by the Dough Glide.

To avoid damage, it's important not to use the Dough Glide with the wire whips, batter whisks, dough hook extender, cookie paddles or cake paddles.

Works like a charm, makes mixing cookie dough and pizza dough easier and more efficient. Very cool accessory. Wish I'd known about it earlier.

Does exactly what it needs to do

I mix large batches of dough to make bread to sell at local markets. Given the chance, the dough will creep in between the top of the shaft and the bottom of the dough hook attachment, and from there into the inside of the bowl shaft. This does exactly what it says it does: it keeps that from happening. Which makes for easier cleanup.

I have used a Bosch mixer to make bread for many years, and have always limited the size of my batches to prevent the dough from getting into the center shaft through the hole beneath the kneading arm. This simple little piece of plastic prevents this problem, so I am now easily able to make larger batches of dough!

This dough guide is great at keeping the dough from getting down inside the center of the bowl and makes clean up so much easier. The only problem I have is that it is small and we loose them frequently.

I love the dough glide. It does an excellent job keeping the dough in the bowl instead of inside the center post of the bowl. The only problem I have is that because it's small--my family tends to misplace or even accidently throw it out.
