Bosch Meat Grinder for Universal
The Bosch Food and Meat Grinder attachment for the Bosch mixer grinds and minces meats, vegetables, virtually any food. It comes with a 4.5mm disk for general use and many more sizes are available to achieve any desired consistency. A stomper is included to feed meat or other foods down the chute. The Universal Plus mixer (not included) is turned onto its rear-mounted rubber feet, as shown, to operate the grinder.
We've tested the Universal meat grinder side by side against leading stand-alone competitors on the market, and the performance of the Bosch grinder put them all to shame. Grinding meat puts high torque demands on a motor and gear drive, and the 500 watt motor and belt drive of the Bosch Universal Plus Mixer are all about high torque output!
For the best ground meat texture and easiest grinding, your meat should be chilled almost to freezing before grinding.
An important tip for first-timers: When you reassemble the grinder after cleaning, be sure to install the blade (aka "knife") so that its sharp edges are against the round cutting disk. This means the sharp edges face away from the approaching meat chunks, which can seem counter-intuitive! Cleanup and reassembly are very easy.
This meat grinder also fits older models of Bosch Universal mixers, but the provided support leg is a little too long for the older mixers. A shorter support leg is available as an accessory for use with Bosch mixers prior to the Universal Plus model.
The Universal Plus meat grinder also is the basic attachment for these accessories: Grater for nuts and hard cheeses, Sausage Stuffer, Cookie and Pastry Press, and the Pasta Maker attachment. (Note: The sausage stuffer was discontinued by Bosch.)

Since the introduction of the newer Universal Plus mixer, the Bosch meat grinder comes packaged with a support leg sized for the new Universal Plus mixer. If you have an older style mixer, the included leg will NOT work for you (it's too long) so you need to ALSO order this "shorter leg."

When you purchase the Meat Grinder attachment for the Bosch Universal mixer, it includes a 4.5mm disk, a good size for making hamburger. (The millimeter size refers to the diameter of the holes in the disk.) The small 2mm disk is for mincing. For large chunks, use the 8 or 13mm disks. Note that meat grinder disks are also referred to as meat grinder plates.

Our meat grinder has been a blessing for our family. We use it primarily for making pasta and love its versatility.
We got one so we could buy stuff in bulk and make what we wanted instead of buying pregound items. It has worked great and held up really well for us.
I have used my grinder for fruit and for meat. It is easy to set up and clean. I can use it to make pasta also. Love it!
I've used a KitchenAid meat grinder attachment for years and the grinder for the Bosch Universal is easier to set up and produces a better grind for hamburger or sausage. This is a great mixer and grinder.
This meat grinder is the perfect addition to the mixer. The mixer is so powerful that the grinder breezes thru everything that goes in. Multiple disc sizes increase its flexibility. And it is a snap to set up & to clean.
Worked better than expected and better than the last brand we tried.
I am very pleased how easy the grinder is to use. I was able to grind 5 pounds of chicken in minutes and I look forward to using the pasta attachment in the near future.
I have not ground meat, but the Grating Attachment does an amazing job finely grinding nuts. The cookie attachment is our go to item for Christmas cookies.
On the advice of a friend who makes lots of sausage, I bought the entire grinding unit, plus a few extra plates. The grinding unit replaces a big standalone unit, with no reservations. The plates, like this one, are sharp and cut meat fibers well, provided that the meat is properly chilled.
My wife loves the Bosch meat grinder. We're now making our our sausage grinding turkey with sausage seasoning. We feel much better knowing what cuts are going into our sausage. Highly Recommended!
