Clearance: Black Bosch Universal Plus Mixer with Stainless Bowl
This is an R1 clearance item. Please check the table below to see how we rate our clearance items.
Note: The product images on this page are of a new item, with the exception of any images marked “Clearance item”.
Note: working surfaces may show slight wear; for example, the bottom-inside of a Bosch mixer bowl may show swirl marks because Bosch mixer whips and paddles are designed to “float” against the bottom of the bowl.
This mixer is identical to the standard Bosch Universal Plus Mixer, except that it has a stainless steel bowl and black and gray motor base, and it does not include the standard plastic bowl. Please see our main Bosch Universal Plus mixer page for full description of the mixer.
When ordered with the stainless bowl, the mixer includes all items that come when the mixer is ordered with the plastic bowl (except for the plastic bowl).

This mixes and kneads really well. The heavy rye dough I make has managed to blow out less powerful machines. The 800W are great (they also sell an upgraded 1000W model in Europe which must be completely over the top).
The reason I'm not giving the Bosch five stars is that the second stainless steel bowl I got would pay for some other mixers just by itself.
Since this item ships with the "small batch" dough hook extender, it now works well for regular size quantities. This seems to have been originally designed for industrial size batches, and a lot of reviews complain about the inability to make smaller quantities. This hasn't been a problem for me with the extender.
Modern upper cabinets leave a clearance of 19 inches (or so), but it can be considerably lower in older homes. The Bosch will fit there as well since the motor is to the side. The total height including bowl, splash ring, etc. is about 11 inches which is significantly less than a Kitchenaid mixer.
I wanted to love this mixer, but for the dough's I make it doesn't knead, instead it just rotates it around the post all in one big mass. This happens both with and without the 'dough hook extender'.. I e-mailed Bosch customer support but heard nothing back. I use it to make sourdough with ~50% whole wheat and 50% bread flour at about an 85% hydration.
No more flour mess. Unbelievable speed, easy to work with due to open top. Super powerful!
I love my new Bosch mixer. I still have my old one that is 41 years old (and still works perfectly) but decided to treat myself to a new one. I would not own any other brand!!!!
Easy to use, easy to clean up mixes bread dough easily,
Are shopping experiences always been good with Pleasant Hill, which is why we come back. I'm enjoying my new mixer. It has wonderful power and much lighter than my older one. I look forward to using this for many years to come.
This was as switch for me from a Kitchen Aid mixer and I could not be more happy. Not only is the motor stronger but the easy of access from the top makes adding ingredients so much simpler and less messy.
I just got my mixer a week ago and I am already in love with it! I went from a Kitchen Aid mixer to the Bosch and the Bosch is so much more user friendly, it’s much lighter to handle than my Kitchen Aid was and it is super easy to take apart and clean. So far I am very pleased with my Bosch and I can’t wait to try more recipes with it and explore new attachments for it. Highly recommended machine!
I’ve wanted this mixer for years and finally got it. It made the most delicious, fluffy loaf of bread I’ve ever made. I’m SO thrilled with it and looking forward to many more creations!
I received the mixer and put it to use right away and made some caramel rolls. It’s light enough to lift and the suction cups on the feet secured in to the counter. The weight was one thing I considered when deciding what machine to purchase. It takes half the time to knead the dough so a big time saver and muscle saver. So far I’m very pleased with its performance.
