The NS-YAC Zojirushi rice cookers feature a computerized "fuzzy logic" temperature control system for outstanding results with all kinds of rice including white, brown, umami, sushi, sticky, fluffy and sweet varieties, and includes porridge and GABA settings. Zojirushi's exclusive Umami setting soaks and steams rice longer for enhanced flavor. The YAC series also has a slow cook function that allows the rice cooker to work like a slow cooker. Also, the Zojirushi YAC series offer a setting for prewashed rice. Easy to read LCD controller is fully programmable and may be set for delayed cooking. Optional quick cook cycle reduces cooking time. Includes easy to follow recipes. GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a nutrient in brown rice that researchers have found to lower blood pressure and relieve stress. The NS-YAC rice cooker offers a special cycle that activates the GABA in brown rice, increasing it to 150% of the level in nonactivated rice. This special cycle keeps the rice at about 104° F for close to 2 hours. Total GABA-cycle time is about 3 hours to 3 hours and 40 minutes, and along with increasing the GABA level, it also makes brown rice softer. 

The Zojirushi's spherical nonstick pan design and heating system ensures even heating for perfectly cooked rice. Lock-tight sealing lid keeps rice moist. Durable commercial grade non-stick interior for super fast and easy cleanup. NEW dimpled inner lid design ensures that condensation drips uniformly over rice surface, and inner lid is detachable for washing; a useful feature.

Easy to read LCD display includes clock. Automatic reheating and keep-warm cycles keep rice fresh tasting up to 12 hours. Sturdy carrying handle and detachable cord make it easy to carry unit to table to serve right from cooker.
