Zojirushi NS-LGC05 Fuzzy Logic Micom Rice Cooker
The Zojirushi 3-cup NS-LGC05 rice cooker features an expanded menu with steel cut oatmeal and GABA brown rice settings for more healthy options. With its compact size and ability to cook as little as 1/2 a cup of rice or oats, this rice cooker is ideal for small families or couples.
Zojirushi induction rice cookers provide outstanding results with computerized temperature control systems for all kinds of rice including white, brown, sushi, sticky, fluffy and sweet varieties, as well as porridge. Also included is a setting for prewashed rice. Easy to read LCD controller is fully programmable and may be set for delayed cooking. Optional quick cook cycle reduces cooking time to approximately 22 to 33 minutes with regular rice. Includes easy to follow recipes. Programmable melody or beep on/off indicator. The large digital display includes a clock.
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a nutrient in brown rice that researchers have found to lower blood pressure and relieve stress. Zojirushi's induction rice cookers offer a special cycle that activates the GABA in brown rice, increasing it to 150% of the level in nonactivated rice. This special cycle keeps the rice at about 104° F. for about 2 hours. Total GABA-cycle time is about 3 hours to 3 hours and 40 minutes, and along with increasing the GABA level, it also makes brown rice softer.
The Zojirushi's spherical nonstick pan ensure even heating for perfectly cooked rice. Lock-tight, sealing lid keeps rice moist. Durable commercial grade nonstick interior for super fast and easy cleanup. The dimpled inner lid design ensures that condensation drips uniformly over rice surface, and inner lid is detachable for washing, a useful feature. Strong, comfortable carrying handle makes the Zojirushi induction rice cookers convenient and easy to carry.
Automatic keep-warm cycle keeps rice fresh tasting up to 12 hours.

Ten years ago, I bought a Zojirushi rice cooker. It’s been a wonderful appliance. In fact it’s still working, but the retractable cord has become unreliable. Everything else works as normal. I now have a new Zojirushi and it is almost identical. It has some new features added and I particularly appreciate the GABA rice setting.
This was my first time ordering a product from this web site. The product (rice cooker) was in stock and the service was great. Since, I have ordered a second cooker and so far everything is going exactly like the first. The facility happens to be in my original home state which I didn't realize when I ordered, however the mid-west can always be counted on to perform!
I purchased this to replace a 40-year old Hitachi Chime-O-Matic rice cooker, with regrets for leaving rice crust behind. I don't actually miss the cooker crust. The Zojirushi cooks all kinds of grains perfectly, and maybe my favorite feature is that it will cook as little as 1/2 cup of rice at a time, so leftovers are a choice. The inner bowl is heavy so two hands with potholders are best for lifting it out. I'm still learning where steam and moisture collect and would recommend a good wipe down of the lid and vent before putting this away for any length of time. The battery clock stays on but you have to plug the cooker in to use it. Once the battery runs out I doubt I will bother replacing it. I'm very happy with this purchase.
Had it a couple weeks so far. It's done everything except brown rice for us. And it's done it all perfectly. We don't happen to have any brown rice in the house right now, or it would have done it too.. LOL
I didn't realize it had a steel cut oats setting, that's a weekly breakfast item here, sometimes a couple times a week. And it was, in fact, the 1st thing we tried in it, timer function and all. Set it and filled it, went to bed, got up to perfect oats for breakfast. Even before it cooked perfect rice, I was already sold on its usefulness..
