The redesigned Artiste boasts a more powerful motor, an upgraded drivetrain that's quieter and features a solid stainless steel worm drive and improved wheel shaft, and a new center column that's stronger than ever!
Designed with bakers in mind, Nutrimill's Artiste stand mixer is perfect for all sorts of families. It has more than enough strength for all your mixing and kneading tasks, with a strong 500-watt motor and a high efficiency transmission that's exceptionally good at getting torque from the motor to the work in the bowl. The Artiste can easily mix up to 6 pounds of whole grain dough. And it's also your machine when you need to do a very small batch, deftly handling dough for as little as two loaves. The dough hook (with extender), metal whip drive, and whips are included standard.
The Artiste's bottom-drive design provides unobstructed access to what's going on in the bowl. You see what's going on so much better without a big overhead gearbox in the way, and adding ingredients is an absolute breeze. The bottom drive configuration also puts the weight of the motor and transmission down low. So rather than being top-heavy, tippy and hard to handle as most stand mixers are, the Artiste is light and easy to handle, and it's so stable that you couldn't tip it over if you tried. Its super-tough polypropylene bowl also features a deep lip all the way around its rim for a comfortable and secure grip even when your fingers are buttered.
The Artiste's dough hook was designed to mimic hand kneading, and the attached dough hook extender makes it easy to mix even small batches. Be sure to check out the short videos above that demonstrate how much more effective the Artiste is compared to conventional mixers at a variety of basic mixing tasks. You may not need to do such large batches often, but it's great to know your mixer has this level of strength and durability! The Artiste mixer is perfect for cranking out sandwich loaves, creating delicious artisan breads, or creating the lightest soufflés.

A wide range of optional accessories extends the versatility of the Artiste mixer. In addition to innovative accessories made by L'Chef/Nutrimill, the Artiste also accepts all of the accessories that fit the main drive connection point of the Bosch Universal mixer. Attachments include a Spiralizer, Pasta Maker, Meat Grinder, Large Slicer Shredder, Ice Cream Maker, Citrus Juicer, Flour Sifter, and more. The Artiste comes standard with the dough hook (and dough hook extender), and also includes whips as standard equipment, for tasks such as making whipped cream or meringue.
Note:The NutriMill Artiste is rated as a 500 watt motor here in the U.S. The UL (Underwriters Laboratory) recently changed the way they rate appliance motors being sold in the U.S. market. As a result, the motor used in the NutriMill Artiste mixer has been re-rated from 650 watts to 500 watts, but it’s actually exactly the same powerful motor that NutriMill has used for years. The only change that has occurred is in the rating issued by UL.

My first attempt at bread I put in everything like I have always done with my KitchenAid, I was ready to send it back. Then I read the instructions, Liquids than slowly add flour. The bread dough was beautiful, it kneaded like a champ. Than I tried creaming peanut butter and melted butter with wire whisks. They broke into pieces. Use only for light whipping it says, So I will need to get different whisks and will continue to use my kitchenaid for cookies until I get cookie paddles. I think I will love this for bread dough, which is what I primarily bought it for anyway.
I just received this mixer today and mixed up some bread dough with it. It worked so efficiently and was so easy to use--I am very pleased with it. Next on the list to try: a big batch of monster cookies, and then whipping potatoes for lefse. I have every confidence it will work equally as well for both of these. I also have to say that I am amazed at how quickly it arrived from Pleasant Hill Grain. I will order from them again.
UPDATE on March 2, 2020: Since I bought my mixer late in December, I have had numerous problems with it--parts malfunctioning or breaking. I have carefully followed the instructions for attachments and speeds, and the largest batches of bread I've mixed up have been 2 loaves. The folks at PHG got me connected with Dave at L'Chef, and he has been wonderful about replacing parts and solving problems. I don't know if I just got a faulty machine or what. I am really trying to like this machine, because when everything is working, it does a fantastic job. But it has begun to creep into my mind when I use it, "What next? "
Received my mixer and put it to the test: made whipped cream fast and pizza dough. I plan on using it a lot and since I don't have a lot of counter space it fits my counter well. It's not so heavy that I cannot lift it which is a big reason I purchased it, and the fact that I can use Bosch Universal attachments with it.
I was on the fence between the Bosch or the Nutrimill. I spoke to a very pleasant and knowledgeable customer service person and we decided on the Nutrimill for my needs. I've used it several times and love it! I use it primarily for kneading dough and my bread loaves are now incredible and scrumptious! I can make cakes and cookies and ALL kinds of breads. It’s easy to use, I’ve watched several YouTube videos, and am so glad I got it. If I ever have problems I'll call PHG customer service as they actually train on the machines they sell. So they know what they're talking about. It doesn’t get better than that!
Just received my Artiste and it is perfect. Previously owned the universal plus, but it was just too big. Loved the way it was designed though (adding ingredients without the big machine in the way like every other brand out there) and wished it was just a bit smaller. This one fits the bill perfectly. I make sourdough and as I'm getting older (not 'old' per se, just not young
Really love my Nutrimill Artiste! I have friends who have the Bosch mixer and it kneads dough just as well as theirs and I got this for half that price. I ordered this on the 20th of December and it arrived 2 days later! Pleasant Hill customer service is excellent they really care about their customer's satisfaction. Will definitely purchase from this company again!
Using the mixer takes a little thought because of all of the options. For my first use I made Snickerdoodle cookies and started by creaming the butter and sugar with the whisks, added the eggs one by one, then I scraped the bowl and switched to the cookie paddles to incorporate the flour, baking powder and cream of tartar. The paddles worked very well. I probably would have to scrape the bowl of my Kitchen Aid too, so not really a big deal. All attachments pop on and off easily and come apart for cleaning. The lightweight bowl was a concern, but not after the first use, the plastic material is sturdy and the cookie dough did not stick. I really appreciate it how the bowl has a grip all around the top so it can be lifted and moved very easily with one hand or two. This is also a plus as my 80 year old mother, who has arthritis, will be using it too. Putting the bowl on the stand is easy and doesn't take a lot of fiddling or pressure to lock it into place. I have also sent off for the flat whisks and bowl scraper. We will put these to test over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
I mainly purchased it for kneeding, and with that it's doing a nice job. It's not excessively loud. I like the suction cups. Easy to clean!! Overall nice unit!
I saw the Artiste mentioned by Amy Burks on her Amy Learns to Cook Facebook page. I had wanted a Bosch but just couldn’t justify it since I have a Kitchenaid I love. Then I saw the Artiste and started looking seriously. I researched it and finally took the plunge and I’m so glad I did. I love it! It doesn’t take up that much room on my counter and has more power than my KA. The customer service at Pleasant Hill Grain is awesome. They were knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions.
I've been grinding my own flour and baking bread for many years. I have almost always used a KitchenAid Stand mixer to mix the ingredients and knead the dough. Trying to add flour to the running mixer always made a mess. This Nutrimill mixer is infinitely easier to use. In addition, the bread that I bake comes out much better, the texture is fantastic so I am thinking it does a better job kneading. But what makes it really great is that, unlike the KitchenAid, my wife will let me keep in on the counter because she uses it to prepare quick breads and cookies. She refused to use the KitchenAid and has burned out several hand mixers making cookie dough. If you are thinking about making this purchase don't hesitate as you will definitely enjoy it.
