Smithey Ironware Skillet, 12 inch

Designed with traditional cast iron skillets in mind, but with improved heat retention for better cooking. Smithey cast iron skillets are perfect for everything from oven to grill or stovetop to campfire. Smithey Ironware skillets feature a polished interior finish. When seasoned, Smithey Ironware is nonstick without chemical coatings. Like other cast ironware, Smithy cookware is easy to clean and maintain.
The small No. 6 skillet is ideal for entertaining, baking, and single-serve meals.
The No. 10 skillet was Smithey's first skillet. It's ideal for small families and as the perfect starter skillet. Not only good for breakfasts and stir-fries, but it can even be used for baking cakes and cornbread. The lid included with the 5.5 quart dutch oven also fits this 10 inch skillet.
The No. 12 skillet suites families of four or those who like to cook for leftovers. Its just-right size is Smithey's best-selling skillet. The No. 12 is sure to elevate your cast iron cooking. Designed with slightly more surface area and depth than the No. 10.
Smithey's largest skillet is their No. 14. The additional space in this 14-inch pan is perfect for searing multiple steaks, sautéing a dinner's worth of vegetables, or cooking for a crowd.

Smithey's polished cast iron features a smooth surface that becomes naturally nonstick with use. The cast iron is buffed, ground, and polished in their workshop to create a simple, beautiful, satin-like surface. All Smithey cast iron pieces are seasoned with grape seed oil. With that said, Smithey recommends using plenty of fats or oil to get the most out of a Smithey pan. Letting your pan preheat before adding food will also help tremendously. The nonstick surface improves as it's cooked on and/or by adding layers of seasoning. Smithey cookware is PFOA-free and PTFE-free.
About Smithey Ironware
Isaac Morton, the founder of Smithey Ironware, has spent more time than he cares to admit considering what constitutes premium cast iron cookware. His attention to detail on elements such as a smooth cooking surface, balanced weight, wall angles, comfortable handles, and effective pour spouts are what led to Smithey Ironware's reputation for first-rate cookware.
Smithey cookware is designed and crafted by a team of designers, engineers, foundry-men, metal grinders, artisans, and seasoners on the historic Charleston Naval Base. They work together with passion and commitment to make cookware of the highest quality that you, your family, and friends will enjoy and rely on for generations.
Caring for Your Smithey Cast Ironware
Smithey Ironware products are made from cast iron sourced and poured in the USA. They're poured and cast from molten iron and polished for a smooth interior surface. Smithey Ironware can be used on all cooktops, in the oven or grill, or even over a fire. They're great for frying, cooking, baking, and are an all-around versatile workhorse in your kitchen.
Clean your cookware as soon as possible after using it and don't let it soak in water. To clean, use
only warm water and a sturdy dish brush, when possible. If soap is needed, we recommend using a
mild dish soap. Cast iron products should NOT be washed in the dishwasher. To release stuck on food
that's difficult to scrub out with just a brush, try rubbing coarse salt and water over the area, boiling
water in the pan, or using a
chain scrubber. After cleaning, thoroughly dry the cast iron with a towel. The pan can also be warmed
on the stovetop for 1-2 minutes to make sure it's thoroughly dry. Rub a light coat of natural
food safe oil on the cast iron with a lint free cloth, wipe out any excess oil, then store
in a dry place.
A note on color: The seasoning that's applied at the factory gives your Smithey a copper color, but cast iron is naturally gray. As you cook with your Smithey it will take on a time-honored deep black patina.
