Family Grain Mill Meat Grinder Head w/Metal Housing

This Food & Meat Grinder attachment includes a 4.5MM disk for ground meat and a knife. There are two versions of this grinder, the one on this page has a metal housing, and the original style, here, has a plastic housing. The auger, knife, and plate are the same in both grinders. This meat grinder fits the FGM motor base and the WonderMix stand mixer. This grinder does not fit the Family Grain Mill Hand base. If you try to attach this grinder to a FGM hand base it will damage your hand base. Click here for the meat grinder that fits the Family Grain Mill hand base.

Tip: Be sure your meat is chilled to near freezing (but with none of it actually frozen) before grinding. This both reduces the load on the motor and improves the quality of your ground meat.

The auger, knife, and plate are stainless steel and the housing is alloy. The plastic tray measures 6.25" diameter.

This item is the grinder attachment only. Electric drive bases are available separately.

This mill is manufactured by Messerschmidt in Germany, and has been marketed for years in the U.S. under the Family Grain Mill name.

These adapters connect the Family Grain Mill attachments onto the drive base of the Bosch Universal Plus, Bosch Universal Classic, Bosch Compact, Bosch Styline, Ankarsrum/Electrolux, KitchenAid, Viking, and NutriMill Artiste mixers.

If you want to use the FGM meat grinder and an adapter to fit onto the Bosch Universal Plus mixer, you will need to fashion your own block, 5" tall, to support the neck of the meat grinder, or else use one hand to support it while pushing meat down into the grinder throat, otherwise it would be tippy. Separate support isn't necessary for the grain grinder or flaker mills because the weight of grain in FGM hopper isn't sufficient to cause the assembly to tip.

If you want to use the FGM attachments and an adapter to fit onto the NutriMill Artiste mixer, you will need to fashion your own block, 4.5" tall, to support the neck of the attachment, otherwise the mixer would tip over.

The FGM grain mill, flaker and meat grinder are all available to fit directly onto KitchenAid mixers. KitchenAid mixers should be 325 watts or more to run FGM attachments on the mixer.

The FGM grain mill is now available to fit directly onto the Bosch Universal mixer, click here for that direct-fit grain mill. All of the Family Grain Mill attachments fit directly onto the WonderMix Revolution mixer.

Note: Using FGM attachments on your mixer may void your mixer's warranty. Please check your mixer's warranty statement to learn if use of attachments made by other companies is covered by your mixer's warranty.
