ABC Hansen horizontal stone burr grain mills produce the finest quality flour. Stone maker Engsko, of Denmark, has been producing mill stones since 1925. A composite of emery and flint, the stones have inherently sharp surfaces for highly efficient grinding.
Stone milling is especially suited to dry products with low oil content that have to be milled very finely. In the case of grain, a pass through a 160 micron screen can be as high as 95%. Stone mills offer low investment in equipment for fine grinding with low heat transfer to your product, and operational costs are low. Well suited for all grains and spices and can be applied to numerous other products. Product is normally discharged by means of air which increases capacity and retains a low milling temperature.
ABC Hansen produce super fine whole grain flour from wheat, rye, spelt, kamut, corn and many other whole grains. They’re also ideal for grinding spices, as the low temperature prevents discoloration and loss of flavor. Many varied applications are possible for grinding low moisture, low oil products from macadamia nut shells to starch.
Mills are available with 24” and 37” stone diameters. The table below shows approximate output rates under normal grinding conditions with dry grains such as wheat or corn.
Pricing for the 24" stone burr mill includes the mill, motor, magnetic starter, and belt drive configuration. An additional $250 crate fee applies. Mills picked up on-site are not subject to the crating fee if a crate is not required.
Mills arrive ready to wire into electric service and put to use. The motor is not pre-wired to the starter and an AC cord and plug are not included. A qualified electrician will be needed to install and supply the electrical wiring of the motor, starter, and AC cord and plug to the service outlet.
Mill operation is very simple, and maintenance requirements are minimal. The composite emery/flint stones are extremely hard for superior abrasive qualities and extremely long life. Most users get lifetime service from the original stones.
An accessory sifter is available, to sift and separate flour if desired.

The ABC Hansen commercial eccentric sifter is a high quality planitary sifter (aka plansifter) for sifting and grading a wide range of products. One common use of the eccentric sifter is for separating fine or extra fine flour from wheat flour, or grits and corn meal from ground corn (maize).
A weighted eccentric shaft creates a rotary shaking action that can be made more or less aggressive by adjusting the lead weight attached to the eccentric shaft. The sifter is driven by a 1 horsepower motor.
The sifting case is suspended on high strength flexible nylon rods, to ensure the most effective sifting action.
Capacity is up to 1250 lbs. per hour for extremely fine flour, and higher for coarser grades.
The eccentric sifter can be set up with either 2, 3 or 4 discharges, for sifting into either 2, 3 or 4 separations.
Screens sizes range from 200 micron up to 2mm on stainless steel wire mesh, or finer in nylon screens.
The eccentric sifter can be purchased either on a frame for a stand alone installation, or without a frame, if the unit is used in a multilevel installation.
The eccentric flour sifter trays and frames are produced using high quality eucalyptus wood, and can be lined on the inside with either Formica or galvanized steel sheet to prolong the life of the trays and promote flow of the product within the sifter.
