Bowl shell for Bosch Universal Classic mixer. Please read the Bowl Assembly Note below, before ordering this part.
We recommend buying the bowl shell together with a new spur gear rather than trying to separate your old spur gear from your old bowl to re-use either one.
Also... most old spur gears have slots that facilitate removal of the drive shaft. (In the photo, the slots are the "elongated" parts of the small hole at the top of the center column). But if your old spur gear is different from the one shown here, having NO slots for the drive shaft cross pin to slide through for removal, then you have three options regarding the drive shaft assembly. Option #1 is that you can order a whole new drive shaft assembly. Option #2 is to demolish the old spur gear with a large hammer (and maybe chisel), taking eye-protection precautions and being careful not to damage the drive shaft in the process. By demolishing the spur gear in this way, you can then remove the drive shaft for re-use. No matter which approach you take, be sure tools are used on your machine only by persons who are qualified to use them safely.
Bowl Assembly Note: To disassemble the spur gear from the bowl shell requires removal of screws at the top/inside of the bowl column. Over the years Bosch has used more than one type of screw head in this spot. We have no way to know which type of screws your bowl might have, and to remove them you will need a screwdriver with extra long shaft and the proper sort of tip. Removal can be further complicated by corrosion of screw heads and threads from long-term exposure to moisture. For these reasons, we highly recommend buying Universal Classic bowl with the spur gear if you want both the bowl shell and spur gear.
Some very early Bosch mixers had bowls on which the pins holding the splash ring onto the bowl were located outside the rim of the bowl. On this newer replacement bowl the attachment points are inside the rim of the bowl. So if you're replacing one of those very old bowls with this newer bowl, you will also need to order a newer-style splash ring and bowl cover.

This bowl was perfect! I needed a new bowl because mine dropped on the floor. I had never taken my bowl apart before but discovered this was a perfect option as the metal parts and top were okay and could be used again. I'm so glad that I got this. It saved me so much money. Honestly, I went to eBay first and got the wrong bowl and it didn't work with my attachments. I should have just gotten this bowl in the first place. I've learned my lesson. I could not have guessed how excited I was going to be when I got it in the mail. It fit perfectly with my parts. The assembly was perfect and I learned how the parts came apart and how to better clean and take care of my bowl. Thank you Pleasant Hill Grain!! I can continue to make my wheat bread, my banana bread and many other things I rely on, with my Bosch mixer!!
Thirty-seven years ago I purchased a Bosch Universal mixer. I have had it repaired one time but when the bowl began to peel recently I was sure there was no way I could get a replacement. After some research we found a number of places we could get one but the Pleasant Hill Grain company was far superior in cost, shipping and their site was so clear on what we needed. The bowl came well packed and is identical to the one I got 37 years ago. At my age I am pretty sure it is the last one I’ll need but it is good to know there is a company that is easy to deal with if I need anything further. Currently there is an ad on TV for a phone company with the by-line is “when OK is not good enough”. If okay is not good enough then I encourage you to deal with Pleasant Hill Grain.

I received my new bowl quickly and with help from my husband and a small purchase for a star bit socket set (bit T-20 fit the outside screws) he removed the outside screws of the shaft and with a Phillips screw driver he removed the inside screws of the shaft he was able to remove the shaft from my old broken bowl and install it in my new bowl fairly quickly. Thank you for your business.
Our mixer took a dive off the countertop and the bowl cracked. Thankfully the rest of the parts were still in good shape. We were thrilled to find that we could purchase just the shell--a great savings. The old screws for the center parts were difficult to remove. I also replace them with new stainless steel screws.
