Organic Red Kidney Beans, 40 lbs.

Our red kidney beans are certified organic, triple-cleaned and perfect for baking & cooking purposes.
Convenient & safe storage
Our red kidney beans are certified organic and non-GMO, and come in six-gallon buckets (or pails... another word for the same container), containing 40 lbs. net weight. When you store Red Kidney Beans at home, they need to be protected in a couple of ways. First, they need to be protected from a variety of little critters who'd like to get to them before you do. Weevils and rodents, for example. You also need to protect your Red Kidney Beans from picking up excessive additional moisture, which can be drawn from the atmosphere. The buckets our Red Kidney Beans come in provide full protection against these storage risks. They have airtight gasket-sealed lids and oxygen absorber packets that remove the oxygen from the air in the bucket after we put the lid on. The O2 absorbers leave an atmosphere of nitrogen in the bucket (because air is mainly oxygen and nitrogen).
Super-cleaned
All of our Organic Red Kidney Beans are triple-cleaned to ensure purity and protect your grain mill from any foreign objects. (Red Kidney Beans that aren't sufficiently cleaned may contain small stones that will damage or destroy a grain mill... not to mention that you don't want such things in your food!)
Shelf Life
Our organic red kidney beans have a shelf life of 10+ years when unopened and stored in a cool, dark, dry environment.
Non-GMO
All of Pleasant Hill Grain's whole food products are natural (non-GMO). Also, PHG does not sell any grains, beans, lentils, pulses or seeds sourced from China.
Additional Options
Pleasant Hill Grain offers over thirty kinds of whole grain products!
Our food category offers many selections of baking ingredients, delicious dried fruits and vegetables, long-term storable foods, canned meat, fish and poultry, sweeteners and more.
As a whole grains shopper you may also be interested in hand crank and electric grain mills and grain flakers as well as heavy duty Bosch mixers, Ankarsrum (formerly Electrolux), Haussler spiral dough mixers, and Famag spiral dough mixers!
Gamma Seal Lids are remarkably practical two-part gadgets that transform standard plastic buckets into rugged, gasketed, resealable storage containers that are both air-tight and water-tight.
Exceptional Value of Bulk Grain
It's well known that basic natural foods tend to be lower in cost and much higher in nutrition than processed commercial choices, but we were still a little shocked when we compared the cost of a staple like whole grain wheat, to items on the shelves at a local grocery store. Our grain comes packaged 45 lbs. to a bucket, so we're reporting each cost here, for that same net weight. The cost of living index in Nebraska is comparatively low, so processed foods like the examples shown here are priced even higher in most areas. We came away from this exercise with a heightened appreciation for the low cost and exceptional value of quality basic foods like whole grain wheat!

Exciting to receive this vacuum sealed huge bucket of non-GMO beans. Upon opening you hear the air escaping into the foil sealed pail. These beans have a nutty aroma. They boil fast as they begin cooking down, turning the water bright red. No more trying to shop at any grocery store for something they don't have (not even the top healthy or organic stores have non-GMO organic kidney beans—and not the canned ones). So much better and so much less expensive than canned kidney beans. You realize this when you see these beans double or more in size. On top of all this, the shipping was free. These are the healthiest, freshest, best tasting, and most economical kidney bean you can buy (and enjoy)!
The red kidney beans were delish and combined with the organic basmati brown rice previously ordered (and a little mild Italian sausage), I made a wonderful red beans and rice dish that all the grandkids loved (with fresh cornbread from yellow dent corn also previously ordered). Love the super pails for keeping beans and grains fresh and free of rodents/bugs.
I am very pleased with all of the products I have purchased from Pleasant Hill. I love the organic choices they provide. From the quick delivery to the products themselves, I have no complaints! I will order again and highly recommend Pleasant Hill!
Great beans! Very clean. Well packed for shipping - came undamaged. Beans are packed for long term storage.
Fresh Non-GMO Kidney Bean cooks down quick to a soft bean in a dark red sauce, eat as-is or mash for a wonderful bean burrito!
Great for storage well packed. Great for eating right away also. I'll put mine
away for just in case!
I order these in advance, as I never want to run out. It has been years since the mail person arrived struggling to unload my first 5 gallon bucket of non-GMO, Organic Kidney Beans to my Santa Rosa California 2nd story bachelor apartment.
Bring them to a light boil from medium heat in distilled water, 20 minutes more on lowest simmering temperature, then off the burner for 20 minutes more, the beans are perfect. I sprinkle Mediterranean Sea Salt and Organic Black Pepper and nothing else. These are the only Kidney Beans that are fresh enough to cook down easily, fast, and have a refreshing nutty flavour, unlike any mass produced and left-on-the-shelf-too-long dried bean from the grocery store. The price per pound is somewhere around 4 times more economical. They are happy in chill also!
Through good and bad times in Los Angeles and now finishing my Masters Degree in Michigan. Thanking you for good health from good food. Jimmy...
