The Ascent X Series is Vitamix’s premium blender line. The new X series combines an intuitive interface with a sophisticated, timeless look. It’s the best in blending, with features implemented from customer feedback on previous models, and updated for the modern kitchen.
The Ascent X5 features a 48-ounce carafe, an automatic Self-Cleaning Program, and ten blending programs (Smoothies, Frozen Desserts, Soups, Frozen Cocktails, Dips & Spreads, Smoothie Bowl, Frappé, Nut Butters, Non-Dairy Milks, and Spice Grinding).
Engineered for endurance and versatility, Vitamix blenders last up to 10x longer than an average blender and accomplish the work of multiple kitchen machines.
Compatible with Self-Detect®
Add Self-Detect® containers and attachments to build a customized blending system designed to fit your needs. When the base is paired with a Self-Detect® container its wireless connectivity automatically adjusts the settings and blend speed according to the container being used.
48-ounce Capacity
With its 48-ounce blending carafe, the X5 is sized just right for small to medium-size recipes and at 17 inches, the blender easily fits under kitchen cabinets. The carafe is made of BPA-free Eastman Tritan® co-polyester and is dishwasher safe.
The Power of Vitamix
With the X5 you'll prepare foods faster, easier, and with more flavor. Take strawberries, for example. When strawberries are blended at Vitamix speed, they aren’t just puréed. At that speed, when the seeds and individual cells hit the blades, they literally explode, releasing more flavor and more nutrients. Sauces made in your X5 blender will actually taste better and offer more vitamins than those made in other blenders. And the same goes for herbs, which release their greatest flavors when freshly & finely ground... nothing will do it better than a Vitamix X5 blender. Aircraft-grade stainless steel blades provide chef-quality results even with the toughest ingredients.
Tamper & Lid
The lid with a pour hole allows you to safely add ingredients while blending and the included tamper helps the blending process. The Ascent X Series also features an adjustable tamper holder that can attach to either side of the blender base. The Ascent X5 has an on-screen tamper indicator that notifies you when to use the tamper to keep thicker blends moving.
From Hot to Cold: Vitamix Does it All
The X5 can blend both hot soups and frozen recipes! The blades reach speeds fast enough to create friction heat that can bring ingredients to steaming hot temperatures in 4-6 minutes. The blades can also quickly crush and blend ice and frozen ingredients before enough friction heat is created to melt the mixture.
New Features
The Vitamix X5 has five additional blending programs compared to the Ascent X2 and Ascent X4 blenders. The Smoothie Bowl program is designed for thick, spoonable blends made with frozen fruit, yogurt, and minimal liquid. It uses controlled speeds to create a creamy, dense texture that holds toppings like granola, nuts, or fresh fruit without becoming too thin.
Perfect for café style frozen drinks, the Frappé program blends ice, coffee, milk, and sweeteners into a smooth, slushy consistency. The program cycles through speeds that efficiently crush ice while maintaining a creamy texture similar to a coffeehouse frappé.
With the Nut Butter program you can process roasted nuts into smooth, spreadable butters such as peanut, almond, or hazelnut butter. It gradually builds speed and power to break down dense nuts while maintaining consistent circulation for a creamy final texture.
Use your Vitamix X5 to blend soaked nuts, seeds, or grains with water to create silky non-dairy milks like almond, oat, or cashew milk. The automated Non-Dairy Milks program fully pulverizes ingredients for a smooth beverage that’s ideal for drinking, cooking, or adding to coffee.
The Spice Grinding program quickly pulverizes whole spices such as coriander, cumin, or peppercorns into a fine powder. By using short, powerful bursts, it produces evenly ground spices that dissolve easily in sauces, marinades, and rubs.
