The steel is hand-forged in Smithey Ironware’s workshop to achieve a refined, satin-like finish. Each piece of Smithey carbon steel cookware is pre-seasoned with grape seed oil. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use ample cooking fats or oils and to allow the pan to fully preheat before adding food. The naturally nonstick surface continues to improve with regular use and additional layers of seasoning. All Smithey cookware is PFOA-free and PTFE-free.

Care Instructions
We recommend a light wash with warm water to clean your Smithey. If food remnants are stubborn, a soft scrape with a metal spatula, or a touch of dish soap and a nylon scouring pad will work. Avoid heavy-pressure scrubbing. It's important to thoroughly dry your Smithey after each use, then apply a light layer of vegetable oil. We like to place the cookware over a burner for a few minutes to ensure it's dry before storing. Don’t put your Smithey in the dishwasher or soak it in water.
