About Skeppshult

Skeppshult of Sweden manufactures artisanal cast iron cookware and cook's tools from strictly controlled raw materials in their factory in Småland. It is ideal for grills, griddles, cast iron pans, woks, etc. To apply, thoroughly rinse and dry cookware, then lightly coat with cast iron oil. Continue this after each use to repair any damage to the seasoning that could have occurred during the cooking or cleaning process.

The item itself is very nice. It looks good, is well made and the right size.

I took one star off because the feet on the thing are slippery, very slippery. They could have used a better material. I have another branded piece which has feet that don't go anywhere but with this you need to be careful cause it can really move.

I ordered the Skeppshult cast iron trivet to use them to protect my dining table and to aid when pulling items out of my ROFCO oven. I was impressed with the first one, this is the second and I have decided to try to acquire one for each of the place settings when we put heated stoneware plates on the table in the cold house in winter to keep the food hot as the plates hold the heat and are heated a bit too hot for the table finish. These are the perfect size, beautiful and sturdy. I expect to also be able to use them as risers when serving buffet style. I expect to get a lot of use from them. I appreciate Pleasant Hill Grain for all their offerings or should I say introductions to such well-made and useful product lines.
