Bread Proofing Bags, 14x18 inch, 100 Pack

Slip bread pans or banneton baskets with bread dough into a proofing bag to keep the dough from drying out while it's rising. Wrapping your pans or baskets in plastic keeps the environment around the dough humid and warm. Bags measure 14 x 18 inches, allowing ample room for large loaves. Some bakers use trash bags to enclose their proofing dough, but trash bags can contain harmful chemicals and fragrances that should not be exposed to bread.

The proofing bags on this page are made of food-grade 100% virgin, high-clarity polyethylene film. They're recyclable, free of latex, chlorine, sulfur, silicone, and BHT. Withstands heat up to 150°F. 1 MIL thickness. Pack of 100.

Banneton baskets sold separately.

Back ordered
By John F. in PA on 8/26/2018 Verified Buyer

This is a review of Pleasant Hill customer service only. I ordered this item on 7/28 but have not received it as of 8/26. ETA is now 8/28. When I placed order the item was listed as “in stock” on the website. I soon received a notice that it was back ordered. OK, that happens. Received a number of updates on back order status. Last notice indicated ETA of 8/10, then no further word. On 8/23 website listed 3 items in stock but I had received no notice of shipping. I called customer service. The woman I spoke with said they were in stock and that she would notify back order shipment department to ship to me. I received a shipping notice later that day. Apparently the back order system did not fill my order automatically from recently arrived stock. If I had not called I don’t know when I would have had my order filled. I’ll review the item when and if I receive it.

Best Ever
By Todd G. in WA on 4/14/2016 Verified Buyer

I use eight of the round rattan proofing baskets to do the final fermentation of sourdough loaves for the family and lucky neighbors. Initially dust with 50/50 rice flour/white AP flour, then just AP after that... they release very nicely, and your bread takes on the impression of the basket.

Fantastic bread proofing basket!
By Rafael M. in ID on 4/15/2017 Verified Buyer

These baskets work well for proofing. They absorb moisture for a better crust and the spiral design of the basket transfers to the loaf making for a professional looking artisan loaf. I spritzed mine with a bit of water and then dusted it with flour. Results were great.

Proofing Baskets
By MICHAEL M. in WA on 8/05/2019 Verified Buyer

These baskets are made of a wood-like material not your typical basket ratan. It is not porous so that flour does not get stuck in the crevices. My sourdough needs some work on the other hand....
