Bread Proofing Bags, 14x18 inch, 100 Pack

Slip bread pans or banneton baskets with bread dough into a proofing bag to keep the dough from drying out while it's rising. Wrapping your pans or baskets in plastic keeps the environment around the dough humid and warm. Bags measure 14 x 18 inches, allowing ample room for large loaves. Some bakers use trash bags to enclose their proofing dough, but trash bags can contain harmful chemicals and fragrances that should not be exposed to bread.

The proofing bags on this page are made of food-grade 100% virgin, high-clarity polyethylene film. They're recyclable, free of latex, chlorine, sulfur, silicone, and BHT. Withstands heat up to 150°F. 1 MIL thickness. Pack of 100.

Great proofing bags

I love these bags. I have never used bags to proof bread, but I thought I would try them and I'm glad I did. I am able to proof my sourdough in the bags overnight in the fridge, and they are perfect. While the bread is baking, I turn the bags inside out to dry any moisture, and then I'm able to store the bread in them. They're great and I'm sure I'll buy them again.

I was used to putting plastic wrap held by rubber bands on my bannetons while proofing my dough. It worked, but took some time. These bags are much more convenient to use.
