I wish it was metal!

I've had my slicer shredder less than 30 days and I need to purchase new parts. Love the shredder but it should be more durable.

Moderator : Plastic parts like this, which can be replaced for just a few dollars, are designed to break under exessive pressure, to protect parts inside your mixer which would be far more expensive to repair. Thank you for your review!

I use my LS1 slicer shredder attachment very frequently. But, it does go through the plastic parts regularly because of all the shredding I do. I wish the parts would last longer, but at least Pleasant Hill Grain has the replacement parts handy and can get my slicer shredder going strong with little delay.

After getting a new Bosch mixer for Christmas I was disappointed to learn that Bosch no longer makes the simple slicer shredder that works so well on my 40+ year old Bosch that I took to our cabin. I ordered two parts packs just to get the pins. I'll have one to use on the shredder/slicer for as long as it lasts and use the other one as a model for turning some hardwood pins to see if I can end up with something that will last a bit longer.

All parts are as described. It fits and works well. Even I rated it excellent I see a space for an improvement. There is the plastic element to transfer the torque and it is designed to fail in case of overload. There is only one piece in the package it would be nice to include 3 pieces or more.
