Grabill Ground Beef 13 oz., Case of 12
Our premium ground beef is exclusively from the chuck tender cut. The chuck tender is the center of the chuck, a superior cut compared to what you'll find in other canned products. Thirteen ounces of meat is sealed in the can with no water added, then cooked in a pressure cooker. Our customers love its excellent texture and flavor.
You can actually save money with our quality canned meats, even though they cost a little more than refrigerated meats. Sound backward? And that's not all; we're also going to tell you that these meats easily do things that regular fresh meat can't. Sound crazy? Well, hear us out...
Imagine being approached by someone who asks you, "Would you like to buy a can of electricity?" That might seem strange, but consider an analogy: The national average cost of electricity is less than ten cents per kilowatt hour. With that ten cents worth of power you can light a 40 watt bulb for 25 hours. Now imagine that a salesman at your door offered to sell you some canned electricity, the same one-kilowatt quantity, "for the bargain price of $3.00." Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? But people actually do buy quite a bit of canned electricity, which is just another name for batteries.
“I didn't mention to my family what I had used in making the beef with mac and tomatoes, just wanted to get an honest review. They said it was great just like always. Didn't even notice any difference between fresh and canned meat. That's how great these are.”
– Nancy F., LA
We wouldn't suggest replacing all the power you get from the wall socket with battery power. But for many uses, "canned electricity" is so useful and convenient you'd probably have a hard time getting along without it. Think about those cans of electricity in your flashlight, portable radio, camera... the list goes on and on. Considering what it can do, in fact, canned electricity actually is a real bargain. And our canned meats offer the very same value, with one big exception: The cost difference between our canned meats and the "uncanned" kind is miniscule compared to the premium we gladly pay for the convenience of canned electricity!
"Where's the Beef?" Fresh meat is terrific! You pick some up when you're grocery shopping, put it in your fridge, maybe your freezer, and use it in delicious stir fries, roll-ups, casseroles... burgers on the grill. But then something happens... it's gone! There's more at the store, but the store is there and you're here. Or you need it right now. This conundrum generally has three components: Availability, transportation cost, and time.
Your menu plans call for some meat, and you're fresh out—pardon the pun. Of course it's possible that you never forget to buy enough, but then you probably never lose your keys or misplace your glasses, either. (If this is true, we don't want to hear about it. Really.) For the rest of us, it happens. And when it does, going away to pick up some meat hasn't been factored into our plans and may not be practical. At such times, having a variety of excellent canned meats to select from means you don't have to change plans or do without... you just reach for a can of quality, delicious canned meat, without skipping a beat. Sailboat owners are among our most avid canned meat customers.
Ordering our canned ground beeffor delivery to your door won't involve buying any gas at all. Leave the mileage off your car—FedEx comes through your neighborhood anyway!
It's money, they say. If you know what your time is worth in "dollar terms" you can easily figure out how much an extra trip to the store dings your budget. But time is more than money too. Time is the opportunity to do what you want to for a while... and for most of us, some extra city driving isn't high on our wish list. And there's more: Our meats save you preparation time. There's no trimming or cutting to do, and since they're fully precooked, you just heat and serve!
“The flavor was superior to the big box store brand that I've been using. I'm very impressed and am now ordering it by the case.”
– Kim C., WA
Preparedness & Shelf Life
We're being advised from many quarters, today, to have some food on hand for one kind of emergency development or another. A variety of circumstances can create a short-term or even long-term need to have food on hand. Food that doesn't require refrigeration, in the event that power goes out for a while. If you don't want to live on beans, macaroni or tofu indefinitely, our canned chicken, canned turkey, canned beef & canned pork will put some great meat on your plate. Our canned meats are guaranteed to remain good-as-new for five years, but customers have told us they've enjoyed them after far more than five years of storage. In fact one customer stopped by the cannery with a can sealed 18 years before. Upon opening, the taste and texture were excellent... after 18 years! The only thing likely to shorten lifespan is attack by outside moisture rusting through the can, and preventing that is as simple as storing the cans in a dry, clean area.
We offer two ways to purchase our quality canned meats. If you know what you want (maybe you're already back for more), a case is twelve cans. Net weight of each can is 13 ounces; some natural juices cook out during pressure cooking, and can be used in your cooking. The can measures 4" in diameter by 2-1/2" tall outside. We used to sell larger cans but we greatly prefer the current sizing because you don't have to open so much at one time. If you want to try before you order by the case, we offer a sampler pack.

By Tony H. in TN on 3/16/2018 - Verified BuyerTaste is awesome! Best I’ve had of all the available commercially canned ground beef. Pricey, as they all are, but a great product. I wish they came in 16oz cans rather than 13. As most recipes call for 1 lb.4 out of 4 people found this review helpful. Did you?

By Debbie C. in CA on 2/5/2018 - Verified BuyerOur church had a potluck that I forgot about so naturally I did not have any meat thawed for a casserole. I remembered I had bought half a case of the canned ground beef and thought I'd try it. After sauteing the onions and mushrooms I added the meat to warm it. I was impressed by the quality of the meat. I finished the casserole and everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. I have since bought more of this product to have on hand, not just for SHTF scenarios but for when I forget to defrost meat! This product will work for every use except patties. I highly recommend this product!3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Did you?
By M B. in NJ on 3/31/2020 - Verified BuyerWe searched for good protein alternatives for our pantry stores and came across this product. We were hopeful for a versatile, flavorful product. Well, out of the can, we were dubious, as it will win no prizes for initial appearance. Our first use was in a simple "beefaroni" meal as a testbed, and let me tell you, this beef excelled. It blended into the recipe extremely well, tasted great, and left the family fully satisfied. I'd attach a picture if I could. We've just ordered several more cases for our food storage. I also like that it is simple, straightforward beef without additives and fillers, and not overwhelmingly salty as other products can be. PHG has been good in shipping and followup, and I've had pleasant and constructive online chats with their support. Thank you!1 person found this review helpful. Did you?
By Pamela B. in CA on 3/21/2020 - Verified BuyerWhat I like about the Grabill Cooked Ground Beef is three ingredients only~ Beef, salt pepper. Nothing you cannot pronounce or wonder if it could be used as something else in another industry. With a can of the ground beef, you have meat sauce for pasta, taco, enchilada and burrito filling, Sheppard's pie, sloppy Joe's and what ever a person's imagination can create.1 person found this review helpful. By Toni W. in TX on 5/20/2020 - Verified BuyerI purchased this canned ground beef recently. But I purchased a case of the beef chunks about seven yrs. ago. I opened up a can of the beef chunks the other day and it was very good. I've had it stored in my kitchen cabinet all this time so I was a little worried that after seven years, it might not be that great. But in description it states that people have stored this canned meat for up to 18 yrs. and it was still edible. It was really good. Will order more soon as a backup for emergencies. Was this review helpful to you?
