Nice to have!

The Famag IM10S is an incredible mixer! When I make large batches of dough I prefer to let it proof in the mixer bowl before kneading it in the mixer again. Convenience. I needed a second mixer bowl for when I have need to mix multiple batches of dough. This extra mixing bowl is an exact match to the one that came with the mixer.

IM8S Replacement Bowl Do not work - Famag Quality Control is Poor

We ordered 2 additional bowls for our IM8S mixer. Two issues that made them completely useless. These replacement bowls were slightly shorter than the original so the motor lockout sensor would not "sense" the bowls and motor would not run. The second issue is that the locking feet on the bowl were slightly different than the original bowl, so the locking collar on the bowl platen would not turn. Hence the bowls were not able to be locked to the platen. And therefor unable to be used safely. I can not understand why Famag does not have better quality control on it's products. Dissapointing.

Moderator : The bowl sensor is easily adjustable vertically. Famag states that adjustment will easily accomodate the 1-2mm height difference that might exist between bowls. PHG agrees with that assessment. Concerning the feet, shims are available to easily adjust the locking feet. Shims were sent to the customer, but after a single shim didn't correct the issue, the customer stated that they didn't want to bother adding a second shim (multiple shims were sent), and simply wanted to return the bowls. Our customers have purchased a good number of add-on bowls, and satisfation has normally been very high. 

Not the same bowl as the original

Great to have a second bowl to speed up production. Unfortunately the bowl is not the same bowl that comes with the original mixer. It’s made by a third party and weighs 363 grams less than the original and is not the same height requiring user to recalibrate the mixer’s sensor in order for the mixer to work. The website doesn’t inform the customer when purchasing and there is no mention of this in the bowls shipping box.

Moderator : April, the bowl is from Famag, and they changed the specs just a little. Our apologies for the inconvenience. Extra bowls do match current new-mixer bowls. You may return the bowl for a full refund if you wish.
