For a cooked side dish, combine 1/4 cup dehydrated cabbage in saucepan with 1 cup water. Bring to a boil. Simmer until tender, about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally. Drain and season to taste. For salad: combine cabbage with cold water. Soak for at least one hour. Add ice cubes or refrigerate for additional crispness. Drain excess water. Serve with your favorite salad or coleslaw dressing.
