I was going through vacuum sealers every 4-6 months. I've used this Weston Pro 2300 daily for over 2-1/2 years and it works effortlessly without a problem. Worth every penny spent. If you need a quality vacuum sealer this is a good one. PHG carries the best and their service is friendly, honest and top notch!
Wish I had ordered this sooner. Works great!
Way better than food saver. Can pack twice the food in half the time. Easy to use easy to clean. Works great even with moist food. Also very well built.
This product is exactly what we needed. We raise about chickens for meat every year and needed a machine that won't overheat when vacuuming sealing consistently. I have used it for other items as well and so far it has exceeded how my food saver vacuum sealed items. It is a few pounds more then my previous unit but for the job it does that is minor.
After our 17 year old food saver finally died we upgraded to the Weston. The picture on the site doesn’t do it justice - it is bigger and nicer than expected. Now when sealing bags, I no longer need to hold it the entire process. The width of the seal is about four times wider than my old sealer. We're very happy with the purchase.
I have one of these and also bought my daughter one for a wedding present. It is of the utmost quality and very well designed. The on/off rocker switch with cover is from the 1960's when things were well made. I seal up cheese and meats for longer refrigerator life. I over buy meats and seal the rest for the deep freeze. I've eaten things that were 5 years old from the deep freeze and not freezer burned. I would find my life much harder without my Pro 2600. Shipping was fairly quick and the staff are friendly to speak with. The only issue that I've had with mine was after many years of use the heat tape came loose. I bought a roll of high heat tape the correct width from McMaster-Carr, cut to length, installed, and it was good as new. When you vacuum seal spiny shellfish like shrimp and crawdads be sure to lay them in a manner that will not puncture the bag. Check on them after a few hours in the freezer. If the bag is loose, find the culprit spine and break it. Put the whole bag inside another bag and reseal. You can partially freeze an open bag of a soup or chili and then vacuum seal. Only partially freeze or you will end up with a large odd shaped bag to seal and store. If you buy the Pro 2600, you will never regret it. Keep it out on the counter so it is accessible and easy to get to. You will use every other day, if not every day. Don't fall for the cheap junk vacuum sealers you see at super low prices. I've had one before and it won't last a year if that long.
Works well every time. Good strong vacuum and seal.
