Always did my tomatoes using a 3 step process since I don't like lumpy/seedy sauce....very time consuming & messy. This machine does it all in one step. I just did 50 lbs. of tomatoes and it was a breeze!!!! Wish I had bought it years ago.
I was facing a mountain of tomatoes to process and couldn’t face buying a hand crank model. When I found this appliance at a reasonable price I was very excited. It was easy to cut up a gallon of tomatoes at a time, then turn on machine and push them down into the auger which did all of the work. When using the medium sized screen, it keep out all of the skins, hard green parts and most leaves out of the finished product. Next time I have cherry tomatoes to process, I will try the small screen to keep out leaves. I found the best setup was to process the tomatoes into a 13’ x9” glass baking pan with the waste shoot directed to a bowl in the sink.
I've been canning for a few years and enjoy opening fresh sauce or salsa in the winter and spring but the amount of time needed to process tomatoes was discouraging. I had to remove the skins and chop and remove seeds. I purchased the Weston electric tomato processor for not much more than a manual grinder and it came with 3 strainers. I did not want to clamp a manual grinder on my nice table or expensive granite countertops so this unit was a good selection. I watched videos of manual grinders and I noticed they wobbled. My Weston electric grinder helped me to process raw tomatoes in record time. I made 5 quarts of salsa and 4 of tomato sauce in record time. This was a great purchase and can’t wait til I pick my grapes
We purchased this tomato press in an effort to save some time with canning the hundreds of tomatoes from our home garden. We were not disappointed. On just one occasion I was able to run over 300 tomato through the press in just over 25 minutes with only fresh pulp and juice on the other end (no seeds, skins or stems). The three different size screens are also nice to adjust the size of pulp desired. Great purchase.
This little machine is simple to use with performance a breeze! The price blows me away... so reasonable after all these years without!
This is the best thing that’s happened to me in a while. Do I ever love my juicer? I use it for tomato juicing. I juiced 35 quarts in no time. No seeds in my juice!! It sure out-does the manual ones. I recommend it. It was delivered fast too. Couldn’t live without it!!
I was dreading making applesauce this year because of the huge mess that I endure every time with my Victorio Strainer. I have to get a board from my husband's woodworking shop and some clamps too, so that the board will stay in place on our plastic table that we set up on our front porch. This is quite a major set up and then to open my box with the strainer inside, only to find it all rusted! Someone forgot to oil it up when they put it away last year... oil it up good, run the apples through and you get a slight metal taste to flavor the sauce! And then, the clean-up! It is huge! As I am getting older, I thought I could not endure another season of this hassle so I began my search at Pleasant Hill Grain and praise the Lord, I found this "Weston" electric strainer! I used it today, and it was a BREEZE!! I didn't even ask my grown daughters to help me, as I enjoyed it so much! It was also VERY EASY to clean up after my applesauce was made. I used the largest hole strainer to make chunky applesauce with the skins on, and I did not mind the tiny skin pieces at all. I also used the smallest hole and made smooth applesauce. My husband commented that it was the best applesauce he ever ate... probably because it did not have a slight iron taste that comes from the rust on the steel strainer in the Victorio. I am really looking forward to making my tomato sauce now! Thank you Pleasant Hill Grain for providing such nice products!
I made pear butter for the first time. I did not want to take the time to peel the pears so the Electric Tomato Strainer & Sauce Maker saved me quite a lot of time. Can’t wait for when I harvest my garden tomatoes and apples to make sauce!!
I purchased this item in the fall and wish I had it sooner. It works really easily and fast. I used it for tomatoes and with the smallest screen almost every seed was removed. Its a great tool and I'm looking forward to making apple sauce with it.
We love this thing so much!! We have used it to make applesauce and tomato sauce. We grew 48 tomato plants last year and it kept up with them no issue. This thing works great and I’m glad we paid the extra for electric.
