Skeppshult Mortar Cube & Pestle
If you're looking for a durable mortar and pestle set, look no farther. This cast iron set from Skeppshult is probably the sturdiest you'll ever find. At nearly nine pounds heavy, it's certainly a serious spice grinder. The walnut wood handle on the pestle is 4 inches long, which makes it easy to grip while grinding spices and herbs. Foam pads on the base of the mortar keep your countertop safe from scratches.
Designed by Carl&Carl of Denmark, Skeppshult's cube mortar and pestle set is a timeless style that is sure to be welcome in kitchens for generations to come.
Skeppshult of Sweden manufactures artisanal cast iron cookware from strictly controlled raw materials in their factory in Småland. Made without harmful chemicals, their products have an exceptionally long life span, which explains how they can provide a 25 year cast iron warranty. Their natural and environmentally friendly cookware is made without harmful chemicals and requires little maintenance.
Carl E. Andersson established his foundry on the shores of the Nissan river in 1906. Much has happened since then, but Skeppshult's commitment to fine craftsmanship remains strong. In an age of mass-produced mediocrity, a Skeppshult pan is a connection to a timeless standard of excellence. A Skeppshult pan is both tool and inspiration, an investment you'll never regret.

By James B. in CA on 3/11/2017 - Verified BuyerAn expensive but excellent tool, the indestructible Skeppshult's iron mortar cube & pestle does it's job well. The high quality cube is heavier, and with a smaller "footprint" than the traditional stone one for it's size. It's useful for both hard and soft spice grinding, but I wouldn't recommend it for grinding/smashing larger items such as medium sized chilies as it wasn't made for that. It's handsome enough to display on a counter top, and has little rubber feet so as not to mar the counter top surface. I know that I will have and use this cube for my lifetime. Was this review helpful to you?
