Paprika (capsicum annuum) is native to South America and is now cultivated in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. After searching unsuccessfully for over three years for paprika that was truly organic; Frontier Co-op developed their own! This paprika was made from peppers particularly bred for their rich red color and sweet flavor. Paprika peppers, also known as sweet red pepper or pimento pepper, are large and mild. Paprika adds warm, natural color and mildly spicy flavor to everything from soups, stews and grains to various hors d'oeuvres — and brightens everything with its vibrant color.
