OXO ON Conical Burr Coffee Grinder with Scale
A truly perfect brew starts with ground coffee, but it takes the right grinder to help coffee beans unlock their full flavor potential. The OXO ON conical burr coffee grinder with a built-in scale precisely measures grounds using the preset grams-to-cup ratios. If you prefer to customize, you can use the gram setting to create your own coffee ratio and grind based on weight. Durable, stainless steel conical burrs create a uniform grind for optimal brewing.
The OXO high torque/low speed coffee grinder helps keep beans from overheating while grinding, creates consistent and uniform coffee grounds for optimal flavor extraction, and generates minimal static to reduce mess. Whether you're making an espresso, drip, French Press or pour-over coffee, the OXO concial burr grinder will achive the grind you need to make your perfect cup!
Buit-in Scale: The grinder has an intelligent scale built into its base. The scale allows the grinder to measure output by weight instead of time, ensuring the precise amount of ground coffee every time.
LED Interface: Use the single dial to switch between cups, grams, or manual mode. In cups mode, you grind based on the number of cups of coffee you would like to brew. You can also customize your brew by grinding in grams. In either cups or grams mode, the internal scale will measure the output as you grind and automatically shut off once you've reached your desired amount. In manual mode, the internal scale is disabled and you can grind directly into a portafilter or other container.
The hopper holds 16 ounces of coffee beans, and the ground coffee container holds enough to brew 12 cups. To ensure mess-free grinding, there's a trap door for the hopper to hold beans in when it's removed for cleaning or to swap out coffee. The ground coffee container features a narrow top opening for less mess and easy dispensing, and the motor generates minimal static. Overheating prevention protects the life of the motor.

Yep, it's expensive but if you're like me, you like to grind up big batches of coffee grounds and in the coarseness you desire. One problem with that approach is that you may burn out many "cheap" grinders such as the Mr. Coffee product and others of like operation rather quickly.
When I first saw the OXO ON Grinder I thought... Whoa! at that price I can buy over 20 cheapies, and I almost did. The other coffee grinders would always burn out in the middle of a grinding cycle or the next time I tried to make some more coffee.
I bought the OXO ON and do not regret if at all. I set the grind I want, fill the bin, and set it on 12 cups. Thereafter all I do is push the button each morning, it automatically grinds the amount I set it for, take the catcher container and pour the grounds into the filter basket. Don't have to hold the grinder, time it, and hope I put the correct amount of grounds in it, and don't make a mess trying to get all the fine residue off of the sides.
Far as I'm concerned... it's a great product, it's accurate and protects itself from any overheating or lack of grounds in the bin. Plus it warns me with a red light that it needs looking after if I'm busy across the room.
After a years worth of operation and close to a thousand grinding operations I'm happy and delighted that I no longer have to stand at the counter timing (or counting) and at times burning my poor widdle pinkies! Worth the expense in the long run in my opinion.
