Nesco VS-12 Deluxe Vacuum Sealer
The Nesco® VS-12 Deluxe Vacuum Sealer features a regular setting for sealing firm foods and a gentle setting for sealing softer foods. Choose between dry, moist or a double seal setting. The manual option is a great way to seal delicate items such as buns and pastries, and the clear viewing window lets you see the seal. A double vacuum pump provides optimal performance and the optional double seal line gives extra strength. The VS-12 sealer stores a bag roll and includes a bag cutter.
Two vacuum sealer rolls are included with the Nesco VS-12 Deluxe Vacuum Sealer. The rolls measure 8.7" wide x 9.85' long and 11" x 9.85' long.

Nesco vacuum sealing rolls are safe to microwave, boil, freeze and wash in the dishwasher. Nesco rolls are made of polyethene and nylon, and are BPA-free. The multi-layer construction is tear resistant and features cross venting channels on both sides to allow for maximum air extraction.

I bought this NeSCO VS-12 to replace a FoodSaver that was making me crazy. The VS-12 is very solid. Compared to the FoodSaver this unit is a little slow to suck down and seal but it keeps going and going. The NESCO keeps sealing and I haven't had it overheat and stop like the FoodSaver does after 3 bags (I REALLY enjoyed taking that not very old FS unit to the dumpster). If you are routinely sealing 5 or 20 bags, the NESCO will win in lower overall time on task as you won't be sitting around waiting for it to cool and start working again. I give it a 4 as I hope NESCO will do some R&D to speed this unit up a bit, and maybe move the vac chamber up front to avoid wasting length on bags.
I have been looking for a quality vacuum sealer that won't break the bank. After extensive research, I found the Nesco Deluxe Vacuum Sealer to be the best bang for the buck. The Nesco Deluxe Vacuum Sealer is a feature rich medium priced vacuum sealer. One of the best features of this sealer is a powerful two piston vacuum pump, which creates up to 25 in. HG vacuuming power. This is a significant improvement over the inexpensive run of the mill vacuum sealers, which utilize a one piston vacuum pump. This is important to know. Good luck trying to find out how much vacuuming power the cheap units produce.
The Deluxe Vacuum sealer has the option to automatically vacuum and seal, or select manual vacuuming and manual sealing. This feature permits vacuuming soft items, such as baked goods, without crushing them. Do be careful about vacuuming items with liquid. The items should be frozen before vacuuming to prevent the machine from sucking any liquid into the motor which will result in damage to the machine. You would want to use paper towels to wipe the bag dry before performing the vacuuming process. If you follow the instructions that come with the unit, you should have no problem. The best vacuum sealers are chamber vacuum systems. However, they are significantly more expensive. If you are doing large scale vacuuming, the extra expense is worth it. However, for every day occasional vacuuming the Nesco Deluxe Vacuum Sealer is more than adequate at a significant savings.
The manual sealing and pulse vacuum makes this work really well with delicate items and stuff with liquid in it by being able to vacuum just enough before it leaks or crushes the food. Great so far!
The best vacuum sealer I've owned by far. Had to replace the Foodsaver that I threw into the dumpster.
This works way better than a unit we had several years ago. That experience left us with a negative attitude about sealers. Reading some reviews online and doing some homework we chose the Nesco VS 12. Excellent item, works as it should, manual easy to understand. Very happy with Pleasant Hill and Nesco.

I have painful arthritis in my hands and having tried 3 other sealers, this one is so easy for me to use! Very good quality product. Pleasant Hill Grain was the ONLY place I could even find this wonderful product. And the price was very fair.
I have had the Nesco sealer for about 1 week. So far it has worked very well. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is it takes longer than my previous foodsaver sealer to seal packages.
PHG did a great job on getting this Nesco VS12 food sealer out earlier than the back order date provided. The machine is compact yet has enough weight that it doesn't slip around on the counter. Handle locks in tight vs reviews on so many other brands. Simple directions and so easy to use.
This is the first sealer we’ve had and it works exactly as promised. It is sturdier than I would have expected a countertop appliance to be these days.
