Bosch Univ High Speed Drive

This piece is attached to the top of your mixer and drives the blender (as well as the Food Processor). Your old High Speed Drive can be pulled off with a pliers, and the new one will press onto the shaft by hand. Be sure to align the flat parts of its socket with the flat part of the shaft, and push hard so it goes on all the way.

Note: If you need a new one of these, be sure to inspect your "Blender Coupler" because the most common cause of failure of the High Speed Drive is deterioration of the Blender Coupler. You'll ruin your new High Speed Drive if you put a blender on it that has a bad Blender Coupler, and Bosch doesn't warrant the HSD against abuse of that nature.

I'm Sure it Works Good

Haven't changed it out in place of the old one. Can't get the old one off with the pliers and I'm scared that I'll break something. I'm happy with the blender though. It works great for mashing my raw veggies, powdering nuts, making apple sauce and peanut butter.

Problem part

Please note, I am VERY happy with Pleasant Hill Grain. Wonderful people there. However, this particular part from BOSCH is very poorly designed and manufactured. It is the fault of BOSCH engineers -- not a problem with Pleasant Hill Grain. Prior BOSCH models had metal parts which lasted 20 years or more. The newer BOSCH mixers have equivalent parts made from plastic and sintered (powder) metal which last about 18 months at best. Thus, I am continually ordering and reordering them once they wear out. Horrible design engineering and BOSCH should be ashamed. Pleasant Hill Grain is an excellent place to do business and I recommend them highly. They are most knowledgeable of BOSCH products.

Based on our experience, we believe that if you replace both your High Speed Drive and your Blender Drive Coupling at the same time, you'll get many, many years of service from them. Shortened life for each of these parts happens if you replace just one, and not the other.
