Young, modern, ingenious—this is not your grandma's pressure cooker! With its sleek design and innovative construction, the Vitaquick pressure cooker line is perfect for both newcomers to pressure cooking and pros alike. These high quality pressure cookers are some of the easiest to use and clean on the market. Silent under pressure, with foolproof safety features, Vitaquick is 100% made in Germany, fully dishwasher safe, and comes with a 3-year warranty.

With Vitaquick, you save up to 70% of the regular cooking time and as much as 50% of the energy used in conventional cooking. Using Vitaquick pressure cookers is a great way of achieving a balanced diet while saving precious time and energy. Conventional cooking methods cause many vitamins and minerals to be destroyed or released in the cooking liquid. Vitaquick pressure cookers require less cooking liquid and cook faster, preserving food’s nutritional value.

With Vitaquick pressure cookers there's no unnerving rattling or hissing while under normal operating pressure. And once the valve locks into place, hardly any steam escapes into the air during the cooking process, keeping the kitchen cool and odor-free.

A large blue indicator shows the cooking setting easily, with just a glance. Cook at the more gentle level for delicate ingredients like fish, fine vegetables and desserts. The higher-speed setting cooks bean soups, stews and meat in a third of the regular cooking time.

You'll love the ease with which the Vitaquick lid attaches, and its audible click that says "I'm locked on." The handle detaches quickly if you wish. Plus, their sleek conical shape allows all Vitaquick pressure cookers of the same diameter to stack together for compact storage—just a couple of the many ways in which Fissler has combined innovation with practicality in the Vitaquick pressure cooker family.

Thanks to its CookStar™ base, the Vitaquick can be used on all kinds of stoves, including induction. The internationally-patented CookStar™ all-stove base features a highly conductive 6mm aluminum core that's fully clad with high-quality stainless steel. The CookStar™ base conserves energy and provides perfect heat distribution, eliminating hot spots.

Vitaquick® pressure cookers exceed the minimum safety requirements of Europe and the United States with patented innovative features including...

Fissler Vitaquick safety engineering

  • Euromatic safety valve: With the perfection of the automatic Euromatic valve, every Vitaquick pressure cooker offers a high degree of safety with convenience and reliability. The valve only engages once the handle is properly locked, and it ensures a safe build-up of pressure and opening of the lid by automatically closing once the oxygen has escaped. The valve also automatically releases any excess pressure to maintain a safe level at any time.
  • Advanced interlocking lid: The stainless steel lid locks into place automatically when closed, creating a tight seal, and pressure can only build if the lid is put on correctly and locked on the cooker, thanks to new safety nubs built into the lid. Vitaquick lid handles feature a super-clear visual indicator that turns from red to green when the lid is properly placed and locked. It is impossible for the lid to come off or to be taken off with pressure inside.
  • Redesigned safety gasket: Vitaquick is equipped with a redesigned safety gasket made of high grade silicone, which features sections that are specifically designed to release pressure as a third line of defense against over-pressurization.
  • Automatic steam release: If the temperature in the cooker increases too much, the automatic steam release function in the main control valve permits steam to escape and thus limits the temperature and pressure.
  • Residual pressure block: The cooker can only be opened if it has been depressurized completely.

Cook's Illustrated highly recommends the Fissler Vitaquick 8½-quart pressure cooker. Its solid construction and low, wide design made browning simple and they appreciated its well-engineered automatic lock and pressure valve features. It cooked food to perfection in their test kitchen, within the time range suggested by the pressure cooker recipes.

Best cooker. Best service.
By Erik S., NY on 7/22/2016 Verified Buyer

Fissler's build quality is fantastic, and the engineering works wonderfully. A bit of advice: Cut back on the burner heat when the pressure indicator reaches one line. Pressure will continue to build (as you want it to), and regulation will be steady and easy this way, rather than waiting to try to adjust only when you reach the second line. The other thing: Buy from Pleasant Hill Grain. They ship fast and their customer service is simply nonpareil. Not in a million years will you be treated the same by a mega-retailer. Fissler and PHG, a combination you won't regret.

Wish I had bought this sooner
By Jen in USA on 8/30/2020 Verified Buyer

I was given a pressure cooker years ago by a relative who didn't want it and after a few moves it had been relegated to the back of a hard to reach tall cabinet. I cook 99 percent of all food for my family from scratch and with this summer being so hot I was getting tired of heating up the house every day cooking for so long. So I pulled out the pressure cooker but it didn't work right likely due to an old seal. I couldn't find a replacement for that model so I decided to buy a new one and chose this Fissler. Now I use it daily and can't imagine life without it.

I made chicken noodle soup from scratch with broth from scratch in just half an hour without heating up my house. As soon as it comes to pressure I'm able to keep it there on the lowest setting on my stove which saves energy especially considering it takes a fraction of the time to cook with it. The bottom is so thick it has never burned anything and all foods come out tender and delicious. My old cooker had a lid that had to be screwed to lock closed which was difficult but this Fissler easily locks closed and is easy to release the pressure from quickly without fear of burning myself. The shape fits just perfectly on my large burners and the helper handle is excellent. I also like that it has markings for liquid levels right in the pot. I honestly use it daily and am considering getting another one too. Last night I needed one more side dish and using my Fissler I made perfect parmesan risotto in 10 minutes.

Pleased So Far
By Reginald J. in CO on 10/28/2020 Verified Buyer

Works as advertised, so far. I use American Test Kitchen cookbook "Pressure Cooker Perfection". Fissler 8.5 quart pressure cooker was rated number one in the ATK cookbook, so I bought it. No regrets. Much like other appliances --first, read the darn MANUAL, then start using the cooker to learn how it works. One tip for users - I move the pressure cooker from the kitchen to the GARAGE to depressurize. Keeps steam away from my curtains, oak cabinets, walls, etc.

Better than electric. You can't beat it.
By Gordon B. on 11/16/2021 Verified Buyer

Like another review opined, I too wish I had bought this sooner. I previously used the leading brand electric pressure cooker for years but was always having to baby sit it. It took forever to heat up and would give a burn error code anytime I'd make something like grits/polenta despite constant stirring before sealing the lid. There was also the ever lingering safety concern, being that the brand is cheap and from China. The odd noises it began making after some time weren't exactly confidence-inducing either.

With the Fissler, all my concerns are addressed. The German quality is unmatched and the multiple failsafes are a huge plus. It reaches full steam on my gas range in minutes, achieves a higher pressure than electric models (with subsequently shorter cook time), and doesn't produce a horribly burnt-on crust when making polenta or cracked wheat. It also just plain looks better and is easier to stow away than an electric model. The 4.8 quart size is perfect for just myself and for entertaining friends and family. I believe the size is ideal for a family of 3, possibly 4 depending on the age of your children.

Another benefit is that there are three ways to depressurize the Fissler. You can use the steam release button which spews steam everywhere like an electric pressure cooker or you can use the natural release method to allow grains to swell. You can speed this process up and help loosen any browned bits at the base of the pot by submerging the pot in a sink filled with cool water. The third way is to run cool water over the lid which rapidly depressurizes the cooker without a hint of steam loss. You can't do either of the last two with an electric model.

It's incredibly easy to use, a breeze to clean, and a massive time saver. I find myself using it almost exclusively on a daily basis for all my indoor cooking needs. I can't imagine cooking whole grains without it. As an added bonus, the Fissler seems to preserve the flavors of both grains and meat far better than a slow cooker or simmering for an hour or two. You just can't beat it.
