Enjoy perfect pan-frying, steaming, braizing, simmering and sautéing with this innovative universal lid from Kuhn Rikon. The innovative Smart Lid features a stepped silicone gasket which forms a tight seal over the top of pans from 9" to 11" in diameter.

The Smart Lid also features a revolutionary pressure-release valve. When closed, the valve traps steam into your pan to contain moisture and once opened, the valve releases steam automatically. The Smart Lid comes with the added benefit of a clear, heat-resistant glass top so you can keep an eye on what’s cooking without lifting the lid.

Recommended for electric or induction stoves. If used on a gas stove, make sure that the flame does not come up the side of the pan because the burner flame may cause damage to the silicone rim.

Dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Do not use metal, such as scouring pads, steel wool or abrasive cleaners to clean.

This is one of the most clever and useable kitchen gadgets I've seen. It fits great, is larger than I expected, and the whole steam-release apparatus is easy to clean and easy to adjust while hot. Very pleased with this lid and feel it is worth every penny!

Extremely useful

We have just started using this lid on a regular basis. It is starting to replace all other lids we use on our larger pots. The fit is much tighter than the lids that came with the pots. The ability to adjust the amount of steam retained is very useful. I am just finishing a pot of chicken stock. The lid that came with the pot allows much more steam to escape than this one, meaning that I have to refill the pot during the long cooking process. No need with this lid.

Works great for different size pots. Very well designed and made. Just be sure flame especially on gas stoves does not reach cover. This is in the instructions that came with this cover. Definitely a great buy.
