Online Ordering

Our online ordering system is designed to be very "up front" with you: By this we mean there are no hidden charges, and you'll know from the very start what your shipping cost will be (most orders over $75 ship free to 48 states... more about that below). The page you're reading now is not used for online ordering, but our ordering system is explained here. Reading this page will help make shopping with us easy and trouble-free.

Before we explain how it works, here are some key things to know:

Shipping methods

Most online-ordered items ship by FedEx Ground except where otherwise noted within product descriptions, and some small items will be shipped by US Mail (read more about this). For other shipping options, please call (see phone hours below.) Note: FedEx Ground delivers to business addresses Monday-Friday and to residences Tuesday-Saturday. So for surface shipping, there are no FedEx deliveries to residential addresses on Mondays, but this is offset by the fact that they do make residential deliveries on Saturdays, and there is no "weekend delivery" surcharge for doing this. Shipping Cost


Ground shipping is free to the 48 contiguous states for orders $75 and over, except where noted on product pages.

For orders totaling under $75, shipping and handling is $12 flat rate. (Some small items ship for $8 as noted on those product pages.)

Ship-out time

Standard shipping is by FedEx Ground shipping. Some small items are shipped via US Postal. Most orders received by noon Central Time ship out within 1-2 business days. Other shipping options are available by phone. Please report shipping damage immediately or within 7 days. Ground shipping is free to the 48 states for orders over $75, except where noted on product pages. For orders under $75 total, shipping and handling is $12 flat-rate to US 48 states. Backordered Items

  • By preordering you're reserving stock from the next available shipment
  • Preordering can prevent having to wait until a second new shipment comes in, if the first shipment sells out before it arrives
  • ETA stands for “estimated time of arrival”
  • We'll email you if the ETA changes
  • You will not be charged for preordered product until it's ready to ship
  • You're free to cancel a preorder at any time, at no charge
  • To place a preorder, simply add an out-of-stock product to your cart and check out as usual

The Nitty-Gritty Details

For out-of-stock items we post an ETA (estimated time of arrival) date on our website that’s provided by our supplier, or else we adjust it conservatively to be on the safer side. This date is for when we anticipate the product will arrive at our facility.

We hate stockouts and work to stay on top of the situation with the source, to ensure that our information stays current. In all likelihood, we probably get called pests (and worse) by manufacturers and suppliers who've run out of things. For many of the products Pleasant Hill Grain offers, we know from manufacturers that we carry a larger stock of their product as a percentage of sales than any retailer in the world, and we reorder long before counts hit zero. This means that by the time we’re out of something, most others usually have been out for some time. It also means that the way you’re most likely to get the item the soonest, is to preorder with us. In some cases, preordering can even prevent having to wait until a second new shipment comes in, before unspoken-for stock becomes available.

ETA’s from our suppliers are usually quite accurate. But things can happen, from shipping damage to lost cargoes to customs delays, so it’s important to remember that the E in ETA stands for Estimated, not for Exact. Our pledge is two-fold: To provide the most accurate information possible, and to get stockout items back out the door again very quickly once they arrive.

Pleasant Hill Grain does not bill your account for preordered product that we stock at our facility, until the product is in stock. There is a temporary authorization placed on your account when you first order, that will expire based on a timeframe set by your financial institution, typically within 3-5 days, but could be longer. Once items on your order are ready to ship, your account will be charged for the amount of the items shipping.

Preorders can virtually always be filled at the price advertised on the product page at the time the preorder was placed. In the rare event that unexpected cost increases necessitate a retail price increase, you will be informed of the new price when the item comes in stock, so you can decide at that time whether to complete your order.

Checking order status

If you create an account during checkout you'll be able to come back later and check the status of your order, as well as access shipment tracking. You'll also be able to log in to reorder in the future, saving yourself some info-entry steps.

Sales tax

No sales tax will be charged unless your order is shipped to an address in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin or Wyoming.

Cookies & pop-up blockers

Cookies are short pieces of data placed on your computer to facilitate interactions with our website. If your web browser is set to block browser cookies, you'll need to re-enable them, least temporarily, to order online. Most browsers are set, by default, to accept browser cookies. Also, more supplemental information will be available to you throughout our website if you do not block pop-up windows.


A receipt will be emailed to you after checkout. Also, during checkout you may print the Order Confirmation Page which contains the same information. Be sure to print and file it, as you might need it later for warranty proof.

To order online, follow these steps

A: Select the quantity of an item you want to buy, then click "Add To Basket." Repeat for each item desired.

B: Links at the top-right corner of the page provide access to view the Basket or to Checkout.

C: During checkout, if you wish, you can choose to order online and then provide your payment by mail or over the phone. Our online ordering system does protect your customer data with advanced encryption.

Phone/Mail Ordering

Prefer to call your order in? Just call 1-866-467-6123 during our phone hours shown below. You can provide your order info and pay by credit or debit card (Visa/Mastercard/Discover/American Express), Bitcoin, or PayPal for immediate shipment or you can complete the order by sending a check or money order. Orders paid with a money order purchased from a US Post Office are processed for shipment as soon as we receive the payment. Orders paid with checks or with non-USPS money orders must wait to clear the bank before they can be processed.

"Real People, Really Often"... During our phone hours, we're able to answer most calls with a real, live person. If everyone's busy helping other customers, you'll get voicemail. When that happens, we make every effort to return your call within minutes if you leave your phone number with area code. It will really help us if you tell us the number very clearly, and sloooowly enough to write it down... thanks!

Retail Store Pick-Ups

Many products are on display in our Hampton showroom, and all items that are in stock in our warehouse can be purchased there. Retail store hours are 8:30-5:00 Monday-Friday. Nebraska sales tax is collected on picked-up orders, not including food items.
