Cumin seed (cuminum cyminum) is the second most popular spice around the world, ranked just below black pepper. It has been used by the Egyptians since around 5000 B.C. to season meats, fish, and stews. Today, cumin seed is very popular in Middle Eastern, Indian, and Mexican cuisines. Cumin seeds look similar to caraway seeds and feature a warm, strong, and nutty aroma.

I use a lot of cumin in everything from cooking beef, pork or chicken and using in my canned foods. This Cumin has a great smoky taste that flavors almost every thing. I’m going to try other spices from PHG soon.
