Small butter keeper crocks from Butter Bell® are the perfect choice for those who want soft spreadable butter, but use it slowly. This little crock holds 2.5 tablespoons (about 1/3 of a stick) of butter and safely keeps it on your counter, at room temperature, without spoiling. Junior-sized butter bells are perfect for stocking stuffer gifts!

Butter left open on the countertop won't keep long... and when refrigerated it tears nasty holes in your bread. Happily, there's a third way—the Butter Bell® butter keeper. What butter needs to remain fresh isn't cold temperature, but protection from the oxygen in air. Using a forgotten, centuries-old technique, the Butter Bell keeps your butter soft and fresh right on the counter for up to a month!

Just pour an inch of water in the base, pack the porcelain ceramic butter crock with butter, and invert it in the base. The water seals out air, keeping your butter soft, sweet & fresh for up to 30 days. If you're anything like us, you might be thinking something along the lines of "Fresh butter on the counter... for weeks... oh sure..." Yep, we were skeptical too. But we tried it... and it works wonderfully!

Nice butter keeper

This is a great little butter keeper for those times when you don't need to use the large butter keeper, which holds a whole stick of butter. I did, however, take off 1 star due to the capacity. Since butter comes wrapped in 1/2 sticks, it'd be great if you could fit 1/4 stick in the butter bell. With this size, there is always some left over - a bit annoying! Otherwise, great product, and it will keep your butter fresh (and spreadable! ) as long as you change the water regularly.
