Just had the opportunity to use it for the first time. Making a peanut butter pie with a Famous Wafer chocolate crumb crust. Crumbed a pack of the wafers in three loads. Each load took approximately three to five seconds to reduce to fine crumbs. Did them all perfectly, no little chunks. To clean it after, I ran a cup of water in it and buzzed it for about another five seconds and it was clean as a whistle. I make my own bread crumbs by buying day old French or Italian bread, cut it up, dry it and run through this blender as well. Turns it to fine crumbs perfectly. Also used it to puree some fruit for a smoothie and again perfect.
UPDATE: Pureed sauce ingredients for both pork chili verde consisting of a bunch of scallions, seven cloves of garlic, cup and a half of cilantro, half pound of tomatillos and two cups of chicken stock and also did the Creamy Cauliflower Soup from America's Test Kitchen. Both perfectly smooth in less than a minute each. I started on number one and then cranked it up after about five seconds.
I made hummus as my first attempt to use the new Ankarsrum blender. It's powerful and effective! Easy to clean. I like not having to try to unscrew a base with blades, and I don’t have to worry about leakage. Careful when cleaning! I added (too much) soap and water and turned it on. The foam was generated so quickly that it pushed the lid off! But at least that was clean soapy water. It’s a powerful unit! Definitely recommend but do be careful about the lid.
Had an Electrolux mixer before for more than 20yrs and it finally give out on me so I went for the second best using the parts for the old machine thank God they fit, I'm so pleases with my machine
This machine lives up to its reviews. I love to bake all types of bread products. This machine is amazing. The unique mixing style truly enables you to have some of the softest bread I have ever made. I have enjoyed using the blender for small batch salad dressings. My last mixer was a commercial Berkel 20 quart mixer. I spent 2500 dollars on that mixer. I wish I had known about the Ankarsrum mixer. I would of saved a lot of money and been much happier.
I purchased an Ankarsrum from Pleasant Hill Grain. This was my second major purchase from them. Each time they patiently answered all my questions. The package arrived in great condition earlier than expected. The Ankarsrum mixer lives up to its reputation and my expectations. Thank you PHG
I love having one appliance that can actually be more than and that’s what you get with the Ankarsrum Assistent. I bought the blender attachment and left my other blender behind. It’s only “flaw”? It doesn’t have the inner neck that is in the videos. They said it couldn’t pass the safety tests yet. That was disappointing and a bit confusing.
Well designed locking ring. Blends just as well as old VitaMix machine did. Good having one versatile machine instead a bunch crowding all the cabinets.
Overall I’m happy with my purchase. Shipping takes longer than usual due to COVID but Pleasant Hill is very transparent about it. I will come back again.
My Ocean Blue Assistent arrived today and it was well cared for during transit. I had to preorder and waited 2 months. I ordered the blender cup and that came a month ago. A highly anticipated fruit smoothie is the first thing I tried and it was delicious and repacked my nutribullet that had long ago given up. Looking forward to making my great grandmothers oatmeal molasses bread very soon.
The blender attachment while it isn't glass is really sturdy and does the job very well!
