The Rösle Hook Basting Spoon is ideal for basting food in the oven, ladling from flat containers and pans, and also for skimming and stirring. The long handle protects your hands from heat from the oven and is comfortable to hold. This spoon is easy to maneuver around all kinds of pots and pans!
Cook's Illustrated highly rates this basting spoon saying it glides under fat, leaving their broths clear. They also found it simple to scoop sauce and pour over food, using this spoon.
Nestled within a small Bavarian town in Germany, Rösle has designed quality cook's tools and kitchen utensils since 1888 that are both durable and elegant. Their 18/10 stainless steel products stand out from those of other brands because of the careful attention to detail and emphasis on functionality that went into each item. All their utensils are designed to address a specific task as well as maintain a timeless style.
“Pleasant Hill Grain is a five star company with five star people. We will be sure to stay with your company for re-orders and we will be highly recommending you to others!”

This is a superb cooking tool. The edge of the spoon is sharp enough to "catch" floating oil on stocks for hand-skimming, and the bowl of the spoon is medium-sized and not too deep. It is not a ladle, but a work spoon, and this size makes it a great access tool for pots of different sizes. I don't hang my tools from a bar, but maybe I will start! Too bad that it had a "made in China" sticker on it. I thought it was made in Germany.
