Gamma Seal Lid, 9-3/8 Inch White (for 2 gal), set of 3
This remarkably practical two-part gadget transforms a standard plastic bucket into a rugged, gasketed, resealable storage container that's both air-tight and water-tight. Just snap the outer ring down onto your bucket. The threaded lid turns easily with molded-in grip bars. These lids are heavy duty for years and years of service. The ring has a polymer gasket where it sits against the lid of your bucket, and the threaded lid has another polymer gasket, giving the container an air-tight, water-tight seal that excludes not only such freeloaders as mice and insects, but moisture too.
The Gamma Seal lid transforms an ordinary bucket into the ideal storage vault for an endless list of materials from grain and other foods to laundry products, pet food, tools, documents, silk ties, lawn and garden products, bait, seeds, oil, disaster supplies... and on and on. All Gamma Lid plastics are food safe, including "heavy-metal-free" pigment in the colored lids, and all Gamma products are BPA-free. Gamma Seal lids do not include the bucket. Please note that color tint of plastic buckets can vary, so Gamma Lid colors may not perfectly match with the color of any given plastic buckets.
This Gamma Lid with 9-3/8" diameter will fit 2 gallon buckets with standard top diameter of 9-3/8". If you want to use Gamma Seal Lids on buckets you already have, be sure your bucket tops have exactly these measurements. (The buckets offered by Pleasant Hill Grain all have the proper top diameters to accept their respective size of Gamma Seal Lid.)
Note: If using oxygen absorbers in plastic buckets, you need to use standard hammer-on lids (not Gamma Lids.) Gamma Lids are airtight, but are not designed to counteract the force of pressure that's created when all of the oxygen in the container is removed by oxygen absorbers. Once the standard lid is initially removed to start using the contents, a Gamma Lid can be used to re-seal the bucket against moisture, rodents and insects.

I purchased 5 of these along with the buckets less than a year ago. I have recently noticed that 3 of the rings that snap onto the buckets have cracked making the buckets no longer sealed. These buckets have only been opened once or twice during this time. I would not recommend these at all.
Getting this replacement lid saved us having to replace the entire large dog food container. Fast shipment. Good transaction.
These in conjunction with the 2 gallon buckets are perfect for pantry storage.

Very good quality and a fair price for buckets and gamma lids. Arrived quickly and neatly packaged. Lids were tight and a challenge getting on, but a rubber mallet did the trick giving a good seal!
First thing is measure your pail or bucket to make sure it's the same as the lid's; don't go by just the description of "fits 2 gallon bucket. " These "screw-on" lids are fantastic: no more prying off the lid with a tool and then having to hammer them back on again. Directions say you might need to use a rubber mallet to get the collar on but I was too lazy and just stomped on it with one foot; it snapped right on. I'm very pleased with this purchase and its ease of use.
We store grain & foodstuffs in our barn in 5 gallon plastic buckets, all with Gamma Seal lids, which is how I learned about them. Have to say the best thing about the lid is it is airtight. Not interested in keeping the contents fresh; this 2 gallon bucket is the slop/compost container in our kitchen: airtight means NO ODOR. Especially appreciate that airtight also means fruit flies can't get into it, and they can't seem to smell it either. Also the lid is easy to open, have family members with severe arthritis who have no problems getting this lid open.

We all know how difficult it is to get the lid off of a standard 5 gallon bucket. I've lost several fingernails to this, as I'm sure you have, too! Gamma Seal Lids save the day for all of the buckets I use and reuse.
I raise chickens and quail. I have a lot of different feeds and treats that I have to store in 5 gallon buckets for these birds, both in a shed and outside. My most recent purchase was Gamma Seal Lids for 2 gallon buckets. I have attached horizontal chicken nipples to these buckets to use as waterers and now I can swap them out easy peasy! Saves a tremendous amount of time!
