Fantastic for making fresh rolled flakes for breakfast

If you already have a Kitchen Aid mixer, the Flaker Mill a relatively inexpensive, fantastic addition to your kitchen. Very simple solution to making wonderful, freshly made hot cereal. Make great oatmeal from organic whole grain oats. My favorite new breakfast cereal and the next best flakes the Mill will produce are from organic Hulled Barley......just a delicious alternative to oatmeal. You can run other grains through such as brown rice, millet, rye, buckwheat. These don't produce the same distinct flakes like oats and barley do. You get more like a light, coarse meal consistency rather than flakes. But they still make nice cereal. Mixing some of the grain flakes together is a nice change as well.

Grain flaker works exactly as described and does an excellent job of flaking oat grouts. It seems very sturdy and well made. You do have to make sure that it is tightly attached to your mixer or you will have grain all over your kitchen.

If you already have a KitchenAid mixer and are looking to purchase a flaker,
this attachment is the way to go if you don't have room on the counter for another appliance!! It works beautifully and is very easy and convenient too! We leave it on for our morning bowl of oats and if I need to use another attachment it comes off easy. ( A side note: the lid from a coffee can fit perfectly on the hopper to keep out dust ) ;-)

I considered buying a stand-alone flaker, but the price and having another large appliance to store were a concern. The flaker attachment is a fantastic alternative. I own a Kitchen Aid mixer and an Ankarsrum - and decided to get the attachment for the Kitchen Aid since we planned to use the flaker daily. The KA stays in its normal position and we leave the flaker in place and use it every morning. I am so happy with this option. Rolled oats fall directly into the pan I will cook in. So easy, delicious and healthy!
