Food-Safe Square Bucket 5 Gallon w/Lid, set of 5

These five gallon buckets are square, and include a unique reclosable lid. The lid ships unattached, and can be installed with a rubber mallet (or regular hammer and a wooden 2x4 to prevent lid damage.) After it's initially installed, the lid is completely air tight and water tight, having a rubber gasket. Later, when you're ready to break the seal (by tearing away the lower skirt of the front lid section), the lid hinges open. The lid has molded-in latches to hold it open, and also has a clip-over latch that holds it securely in the closed position. After the initial seal is broken, the lid (when in the closed position) is close-fitting, but is no longer air or water tight. The closeness of the fit is such that if held upside down with some water inside, the water will come out in a fast trickle. (If you need fully gasketed resealability, see our Gamma Seal lids instead.) We have tested the lid's hinge to over 1000 open/close cycles. Made of food-safe virgin polypropylene and polyethylene.

5 gallon bucket with hinged lid

Our family has purchased seven and will order more in the future. Previously I’d place bulk (25+lbs) in several gallon glass jars for storage. After finding these, I now order several things in 25lbs or more and one of these for each and I feel really great about it. The plastic is food grade. I feel prepared for the oncoming storm months with a few of these compactly sitting in the storage closet. All in all, for this reviewer who has a particular thing about food in plastic, these have been a game changer.

Great for long term storage; especially for rice, other grains, and flour because of the lid’s tight seal. If one is storing something that doesn’t need to be sealed long term, the flip lid makes it easier to access. I highly recommend these buckets.
