I was gratified to find a replacement part for this mixer after this many years of ownership. That being said, I gave it 4 stars because it was a bit expensive and I'm still not sure if the item aged/fatigued or if it was an operator problem. I know that when it went, the topmost portion shattered, so being cautious, we tossed a batch of cookie batter. Now, no cookies. Oh well
