CucinaPro Tortilla Press
The CucinaPro Tortilla (Flatbread) Maker was formerly marketed under the Villaware label as the "Grand Wrap Tortilla Maker", this press flattens and bakes tortillas up to 10". Professional style cool-touch top handle makes flattening tortilla dough easy. Premium nonstick coating and 1000 watts of baking power for fast results. Has ready light. There are lots of tortilla presses on the market that last about as long as the typical curling iron... their lids and handles break after a few hundred tortillas, or their heating coils burn out. Our customers have been very happy with the CucinaPro. It makes great tortillas and it's built to keep working for a long time.

Because cooking raw tortillas and flatbreads is new, it was difficult at first to know when they needed to be flipped. A 1" scratch was the result of my first use with corn and a plastic flipper. The non-stick surface is rather thin and fragile. A ceramic surface might be a better choice. With practice, it will work great for the gluten free grains I bought it for.
I'm gluten free and it is difficult to get good tasting tortillas that are gluten free. I've made them a couple of times and have not really come up with a good recipe yet. The product works well.
We purchased this as a gift for our daughter. She and her family are delighted. They’re enjoying tortillas that are flexible, fresh, and more healthy. We bought the little tortilla keeper, too, which is handy for them.
We have had our tortilla maker at least 10 years and love it!! Our children made tortillas and sold them when they were younger. Our youngest daughter just married and ask for her own tortilla maker! We made sure we bought hers from Pleasant Hill Grain. This is the best tortilla maker and over the 15 or so years from buying our Bosch, grainmill, etc we only do business with Pleasant Hill Grain!! Great service!!
This makes great tortillas, but like anything, there was a bit of a learning curve--the end results are worth it thought
I could not find the CucinaPro in stock anywhere. Thankfully, I happened to come across Pleasant Hill Grain. Even though it was the holiday season, they quickly processed the order and had it st our house before my wife’s birthday. It was a great overall experience and we are looking forward to getting a lot of use out of our new product.
Great tool to make/cook tortillas. It takes some practice but the reward is significant. A little on the bulky side as far as storing, but you can make a bunch of tortillas and freeze them for later use. I use whole grain masa, water and salt - that's it. Much more healthful ingredients than the standard ingredients in store-bought tortillas. Highly recommended - but keep in mind your first few efforts may be unsuccessful. Keep at it - by the second use I have it down pat!
I have always wanted to make homemade tortillas. This tortilla maker has made it possible. Although my first attempt was not the greatest, I look forward to trying many more times to get it right!! The heat was even, the tortilla maker was easy to use and I did follow the instructions. I love the nonstick surface and the tortilla maker seems very well made. I will certainly keep at it!!
The CucinaPro Tortilla Press is very nice, well made and does it's job. The only problem is that I need to learn more on how to use it. I made the flour tortillas and made 16 balls for making the tortillas. The first ones were way too thin. So after making 2-3 of them, I combined 2 of the balls and the tortillas turned out better. I think I am cooking them too long as they are more crisp than pliable. It is going to take me several attempts before I make a perfect tortilla. I still like the press and will continue using it.
Our 12 person family wanted to stop buying tortillas at the grocery store, but only a couple of us could make tortillas by hand. This press has been a game changer! We now have two and even the kids can keep us supplied. We feel like we are at a restaurant. Thanks for a great product!
