Butter Bell, Chelsea Gardens
The Chelsea Gardens Butter Bell® crock is a fresh botanical addition to the Butter Bell® Crock collection, inspired by the charm of England’s beloved gardens. The Chelsea Gardens crock is made of durable new bone china and measures 4” x 4”. Holds a full stick (1/2 cup) of butter.
Dressed in delicate herb garden artwork, Chelsea Gardens features a delightful mix of thyme, lavender, chives, chamomile, basil and rosemary surrounding the base of the crock. Soft herb sprigs also encircle the lid, framing the design like a proper English garden bed.
Butter left open on the countertop won't keep long... and when refrigerated it tears nasty holes in your bread. Happily, there's a third way—the Butter Bell® butter keeper. What butter needs to remain fresh isn't cold temperature, but protection from the oxygen in air. Using a forgotten, centuries-old technique, the Butter Bell keeps your butter soft and fresh right on the counter for up to a month!
Just pour an inch of water in the base, pack the porcelain ceramic butter crock with butter, and invert it in the base. The water seals out air, keeping your butter soft, sweet & fresh for up to 30 days. If you're anything like us, you might be thinking something along the lines of "Fresh butter on the counter... for weeks... oh sure..." Yep, we were skeptical too. But we tried it... and it works wonderfully!
