Thanks to the Zassenhaus Manual Bread Slicer, slicing homemade bread into perfectly uniform slices is as easy as turning a crank. This classic hand slicer combines nostalgia with modern German design, making toast or a sandwich made with your own fresh bread, a whole lot easier. The Zassenhaus slicer is perfect for crusty sourdough bread or soft commercial-yeast sandwich bread. The painted finish and classic wood base provides a beautiful touch to your kitchen.

SUPERIOR GERMAN DESIGN

If you want a precision tool for slicing and cutting homemade bread in your own kitchen, look no further! The Zassenhaus bread cutter features an ultra sharp stainless steel blade with a special serrated edge made in Solingen, Germany. The four suction cups on the bottom of the base help secure the bread slicer while slicing. We've found that the suction cups secure best to glass, marble and quartz surfaces, and laminates like Formica, as long as they’re smooth.

ADJUSTABLE THICKNESS

The Zassenhaus bread slicer is the perfect tool for slicing everything from crusty artisan bread to soft enriched breads. Adjust the knob on the base to the desired thickness of your slice, and turn the handle as you guide the bread along the blade. To clean, simply wipe carefully with a damp cloth.

Consistent slices are so much easier than when slicing freehand. What seemed like an extravagance now seems like something I should've gotten a long time ago.
Rotary blade is exquisitely sharp! You may not even feel it if you don't pay attention. Don't ask :-).
The missing fifth star is because this latest model doesn't have a folding space-saver base or the guide that keeps your scrumptious slice from flopping over into the path of the crank. C'mon, Zassenhaus, don't cave in to greedy stockholders! Keep the quality features!

Recently we bought Zassenhaus Bread Slicer and our family felt immediately in love with this tool. its slices bread nicely, the slices are even, you can adjust the thickness for different breads. Our teenage son start looking forward to making sandwiches himself, saying that’s the best kitchen gadget we have in our kitchen. This is just what I needed -- a non-electric slicer that can handle my round sourdough loaves easily. Those suction-cup feet hold fiercely to my countertop! I might need to devise a guide of some sort for the slices as they come out on the right side of the slicer. The long slices have a tendency to flop and can get in the way of the handle as it's turned. A minor challenge for me in an otherwise great piece of equipment. And Pleasant Hill Grain has been great to deal with. This slicer arrived even quicker than I expected. So glad to have found PHG!
