Clearance: KoMo Hand Grinder
This is an R2 clearance item. Please check the table below to see how we rate our clearance items.
Note: The product images on this page are of a new item, with the exception of any images marked “Clearance item”.
The KoMo hand grinder is constructed of solid maple hardwood and stainless steel, with precisely fitted corundum-ceramic millstones. An extra large hardwood handle provides smooth cranking, and the transparent milling chamber provides a full view of the hand mill's interior.
All dry grains can be ground, including soft or hard wheat, oat groats (dehulled oats), rice, triticale, kamut, spelt, buckwheat, barley, rye, millet, teff, quinoa, amaranth, sorghum and dent (field) corn. It will also grind lentils, dry beans (pinto, red, garbanzo, kidney & more), and dried, non-oily spices. It isn't suitable for herbs, oilseeds like flax or sesame, popcorn, or fibrous materials.
Hopper capacity is 1.3 lbs. Milling rate is 1.6 oz. of fine grain flour per minute.
Grinding texture is infinitely adjustable from very fine flour to coarse meal or cracked grain.
Two heavy duty steel clamps with 2.25" clamping range hold the mill securely to the countertop, and a removable maple and stainless steel flour bin is included. Built with uncommon quality and impeccable finish, the KoMo hand grinder is a beautiful example of European craftsmanship.
An optional motor drive attachment is available for the KoMo hand grinder.

Although the instructional manual says that the mill should be able to grind 50 g/min, we (my students and I) were only able to grind 2 g/min... after 20 minutes we barely had enough flour for a muffin! Unfortunately, I have called several times and sent 3 emails requesting help and have not had satisfactory feedback and our questions remain unanswered.
I already own an electric KoMo mill but purchased this hand mill at my mom's request. We've been using it for a week or so and are loving it! It grinds smoothly and as finely as you'd like. It doesn't require too much elbow grease (for reference I'm super petite and can operate this without any problem). The mill is so beautiful and it's an ornament for the kitchen in its own right.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife, and she loves it. She says her only complaint is that the directions were not very clear.
If you want quality and great countertop aesthetic this is the grinder for you.
Although the instructions were at first confusing now we have it set up. We are very happy with this grinder. It is just the right size for 1 or 2 people and affordable.
we use this all the time - so easy
When the electrical power goes out I am very sure this machine, the KoMo Hand Grinder will come in handy. Even when the power is on it is still good to be prepared to know that this machine will be ready in any kind of weather. No power required. The only energy required is man power. That is the whole reason why I purchased this product. Especially since I know it will do the job of grinding the grains when I need flour that is not rancid. On the fence about this product? Don’t think too hard. And plus if anyone has any questions the folks at Pleasant Hill Grain will answer any questions that you may have pertaining this simple machine. Just reach out to them. I did. They were very helpful. :). I have yet to use the machine but it is very simple to set up and I asked my questions to the support team and they were very helpful and responsive.
I got to try this out at the Pleasant Hill Store. So easy to turn the handle and it grinds quite fine. Very impressed! Love KoMo mills.
Excellent product. Looks beautiful on the counter also.
