Country Estate Apple Cider Press with Stainless Basket
Tariffs could soon be imposed on three categories of PHG products: Fruit presses, fruit grinders, and corn shellers. Prices will jump sharply if this happens, so we encourage you not to wait once you’ve made a decision!
Our Country Estate apple cider press produces high juice yields from your apples, grapes, pears and other fruit. Its strong steel handle creates high pressing force with low effort, and it's built strong for years of enjoyable and reliable service.
The ratchet head on the Country Estate press travels on a stationary, center-mounted screw. The square base with a heavy duty leg at each of the four corners provides exceptional stability for steady pressing.
“The press is of peerless sanitation due to its stainless steel basket and tray. Also due to its stainless construction and cleanliness, you can make both red and white wines. The entire construction is rock solid… to top it all off, I think the aesthetic design is very attractive.”

To load the press, start by lining the pressing basket with a mesh liner bag (not included; available below). Fill the lined basket with pulped apples, grapes or other fruit. Lap the bag top across the top of the fruit, and place the split pressing plate halves on top of the fruit. Place alternating pairs of hardwood blocks over the pressing plate, and spin the ratchet head down onto the blocks. Begin ratcheting downward to press juice from your fruit.
When juice flow becomes negligible, the pressing cycle is done. After reversing the two ratchet directional pins on top of the ratchet head, continued ratcheting will move the head back up the shaft. Empty and reload the basket, and you're ready for another batch!
The juice pan of the Country Estate press is made of stainless steel, and powder coating of steel parts ensures a lasting finish.

We recommend ordering an accessory mesh basket-liner bag to use with the press. Traditionally, disposable cheesecloth is used to keep finer fruit pulps from squirting out between the basket slats under high pressure, but our mesh bags are reusable and much more convenient.
It's important to keep the acme forcing screw well lubricated with food safe grease; this greatly reduces wear and turning effort, and dramatically increases maximum pressure and juice yield.
As with any press, to get good juice yield from apples you need to pulp them first. Proper pulping lets you get three to four times as much juice from the apples, compared to pressing the fruit whole. Our Maximizer™ apple grinder and Electric Apple Grinder are both excellent choices.
My order arrived as promised I believe it was on the third day after I ordered it. PHG had an issue with my billing address and called numerous times trying to get ahold of me to iron out the details I was very surprised but pleased with their dedication to getting my order delivered. Thank you again. I had ordered the press after purchasing 100 lbs of Marechal Foch grapes since then I have pressed the young wine and extracted the juice/wine. During the pressing process I did not have any issues with the press. I did order food grade grease when I purchased the press, before using the press i applied a moderate amount to the acme screw as well on any contacting metal surfaces. Since the ratchet is painted it does have a small amount of paint that will flake off during the first use, the grease that I applied contained all of it and I simply wiped it off after. This is the first fruit press I ever used and overall it was easy and fun. A things to note the assembly time took me about 5 minutes, it took me longer to get tools out of my shed. Also you will need a wrench or pliers that can open to about 1-3/16". I made a slight modification to my press, I added a piece of 1 inch I. D. flexible tubing with a S. S. hose clamp, in case you don't have bucket that will fit under the spout. I placed my press on my porch with a sheet of plywood screwed to the legs and ran the 1in tubing into a pail down below. Worked well and clean up was less than 10 mins.

The press is of peerless sanitation due to its stainless steel basket and tray. Also due to its stainless construction and cleanliness, you can make both red and white wines. The entire construction is rock solid it seems and while I have yet to actually use it, it has given me no reason to believe it will be anything but awesome. The ratcheting mechanism looks solid and I am eager to try it out. Ant to top it all off, I think the aesthetic design is very attractive.

I was surprised how fast I received my order. Even more surprised after assembling the unit to see the quality and workmanship in the finished product. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend your company to all my friends. I can't wait for the fruit to ripen so it can be used.

Spectacular, the product came quickly and on time. It was perfectly wrapped and easy to assemble. I’m very happy with it and can’t wait for my first batch of wine grapes this fall.
"I have never before received such prompt service when ordering any item from a company. I placed my order late in the afternoon and had exactly what I ordered in my mailbox less than 48 hours later. It was a pleasure doing business with you." — Sue Belair, WI
