DEFINITIONS, BENEFITS AND USES
Silpat is a reusable alternative to parchment paper, with nonstick qualities that require no grease, butter or fat. It’s a nonstick, reusable baking liner that provides even heat distribution for uniform baking and prevents food from sticking on cookie sheets, jelly roll pans, and similar baking surfaces. No matter the recipe, your cookies will never stick to the pan again. From pastries to artisan breads, use Silpat every time you bake for crisp, perfectly finished foods. Silpat withstands temperatures from -40° to 480°F and is designed for use in all types of ovens. You can even freeze your foods on Silpat.
Roul’pat is a flexible, nonstick work mat for your counter top. With the Roul’pat, whether you’re kneading bread dough, making pizza crust or rolling out a flaky pastry, you won’t need extra flour and the mat won’t shift or roll up while you’re using it. It’s similar to the Silpat, but is coated on both top and bottom with silicone. This special treatment on the bottom makes it slip resistant, providing a smooth flat surface that wipes up easily and rolls compactly (or can lie flat) for storage. Since it’s nonstick it also works well for sticky foods such as fondant, chocolate, sugary candy and caramel. But Roul’pat uses don’t end in the kitchen. The nonstick silicone makes it an ideal craft station, especially for kids. Even glue doesn’t stick, so cleanup is quick and easy.
