Römertopf, German for “Roman pot,” has been manufacturing handcrafted, clay bakeware since 1967. When the baker's lid is soaked in water before use, the fine pores of its natural clay construction absorb water which is subsequently released as steam, allowing fruits and breads to cook evenly and meat to slowly cook in its natural juices without added fat or oil. The lower half of the pot is glazed with a chemical-free glass lining for fast and easy cleaning. The clay contains no lead or cadmium, and Römertopf bakeware is microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe.
