FibraMent baking stones promote optimum rising of dough, and give both professional and hobby bakers the ability to make breads and pizza with a crisp, golden and chewy crust. These quality baking stones can be used in gas, electric or convection ovens. These quality baking stones work by storing a great deal of thermal energy and releasing it rapidly to your dough.
FIBRAMENT STONE MATERIAL
Each is NSF-certified and made of a patented blend of raw materials that are heat conductive and extremely durable. FibraMent stones can be left in your oven all the time. It’s recommended that you remove the stone before running your oven’s cleaning cycle, but you may leave it in if you can be sure nothing from the oven will drip onto the stone.
All FibraMent stones are ¾-inches thick and both the round baking stones and rectangular baking stones come in a wide range of sizes. When choosing a size to fit your oven, the manufacturer recommends allowing an inch of space between the stone and the oven walls for air circulation.
BAKING STONES FOR BBQ GRILLS
The FibraMent baking stone for BBQ grills comes with a metal flame diverter that protects the stone from direct flames. The BBQ stone can be used in your oven as well, because the metal pan has the same heat transfer properties as the stone itself.
AT-HOME STONE OVEN
While one baking stone is a great addition to your kitchen, two are even better! To best achieve the heating effects of a professional oven, place a second baking stone on the oven rack directly above your first one. This way your food will bake between two stone surfaces, which will greatly improve the quality of your baked goods.
PRE-DRYING YOUR STONE
Your FibraMent stone needs to be pre-dried before its first use. This process involves a gradual oven temperature increase, to slowly release moisture from the stone’s porous surface. Moisture turns to steam at 212°F., and if forced out of the stone too quickly thermal shock can occur and the stone may crack. Complete instructions are included with each FibraMent baking stone.
FIBRAMENT TIPS & CARE INFO
We recommend keeping FibraMent baking stones in your oven full time, and if you have just one stone, place it on the lowest rack. Taking the stones out of the oven when they’re hot makes them susceptible to thermal shock, and you’ll risk burning yourself. With their excellent heat properties, the stones will remain hot for around 30 minutes (if you choose to remove them from the oven), and foods left on the stones will continue to bake.
FibraMent stone baking properties actually improve with use, and proper care. The grease and toppings that drop on the stone seal the surface of the stone and minimize the chance of dough sticking to the surface. It’s normal for the stones to become darker over time.
When placing your stone in the oven, put the rough side up to help prevent foods from sticking to the stone, and keep in mind that aluminum foil and parchment paper can also be used to prevent sticking and thermal shock.
