Slow roast delicious stuffed apples in this clay apple baker from Römertopf. The apple baker is great for family snacks and festive desserts. Apples baked in the Römertopf clay baker are sure to please in both taste and appearance!
Römertopf vessels are made with all natural clay farmed from a region in Germany famous for its superior clay. Cooking with steam in natural clay vessels provides healthful, moist and tender results.
To use, first soak the baker lid for ten minutes and fill the bottom chamber with your baked apple ingredients. Place the soaked lid on the baker and put the Römertopf in a cold oven. Preheat the oven and bake your apple. Steam will gently release from the moisture in the fine pores of the clay lid as the pot is heated. This moisture inside the baker will keep your apple moist and will help it to bake faster.
The inside of the bottom chamber of the Römertopf apple baker is glazed with a chemical-free glass frit lining. This glaze makes cleaning the Römertopf baker fast and easy. The inside of the lid is unglazed, allowing the clay to absorb moisture into its fine pores.
Römertopf products have passed all FDA testing and are free of harmful lead and cadmium.
All the Römertopf bakeware at Pleasant Hill Grain is handcrafted in Germany and safe for use in the dishwasher, microwave oven, and conventional oven.
