The Roma apple cider press is solidly built, with quality features that ensure enjoyable use and long service. Pressing apple, pear or grape juice is so easy, and the product so delicious, your only regret will be that you didn't discover this fun pastime years earlier!
We recommend ordering an accessory mesh basket-liner bag to use with the press. Traditionally, disposable cheesecloth is used to keep finer fruit pulps from squirting out between the basket slats under high pressure, but our mesh bags are reusable and much more convenient. Also consider an apple grinder to greatly increase yield compared to pressing whole apples.
It's important to keep the acme forcing screw well lubricated with food safe grease; this greatly reduces wear and turning effort, and dramatically increases maximum pressure and juice yield.
As with any press, to get good juice yield from apples you need to pulp them first. Proper pulping lets you get three to four times as much juice from the apples, compared to pressing the fruit whole.
